Chapter 1 - Prologue

~Earth Calendar 2273~

In a dark one-room apartment near the slums of HolyCity, a young man, around 15, was lying in his bed, still unconscious with bloody bandages wrapped around his body.

"You are a disgrace to our family."

"How could my son not awaken our Blue Fire Bloodline."

"Mom...Dad.."

"Don't think about it, Sweetheart. We still have Chen and An"

"I... Don't need a bloodline!"

"Hahaha...My Younger Brother is just a bloodlineless trash."

"SILENCE!"

"Master, what should we do about the young master situation?"

"Kick him out. I don't want to see him ever again."

"KYAAHHH"

Xiang opened his eyes without hesitation, hearing a strange scream, knowing that he could die any moment. He grabbed the kitchen knife he hid under his stained pillow and jumped out of bed. Still scared after yesterday's Monster attack, his adrenalin was rushing through his body, only realizing seconds later while looking for the enemy that they were screams of passion.

"FUCK"

Dropping his knife and feeling the pain caused by the reopening of his wounds, he ground his teeth. Still thinking about yesterday's way back home, he encountered a low-rank 1-star beast. Usually, he could easily beat this monster because of his status as a 4th stage Body forging student. Still, he didn't have any energy left for the fight due to an exhausting training regime and a lack of nutrition.

"I was lucky that brother Jay brought a girl back to his place."

Brother Jay was his 22-year-old neighbor who saved him yesterday on his way back home who was now indulging himself in a Tango of lust. Without Brother Jay's help, Xiang would have died, a common occurrence in this current cultivation era.

Around 190 years ago, the earth started to change. Scientists had discovered a vital energy source infused in all living creatures. Humans needed to adapt fast after the first animals mutated into beasts and killed millions. One year after discovering this energy, scientists named it aether and found that martial arts paired with meditation could help gather this so-called aether and bring the human body to a new height.

Around the same time, many people from the age of 13 and above started awakening supernatural abilities that scientists later discovered were Inherited talents shared with family members, so they named them Bloodlines.

The discovery resulted in the creation of family clans with unique Bloodlines, and the stronger the bloodline was, the more influential the families became.

Bloodlines were divided into five grades, Common, uncommon, rare, epic, and Legendary. Common Bloodlines could allow people to gain simple abilities like increased strength or better endurance. Uncommon bloodline inheritors gained mostly out of body talents like telekinesis or speaking with animals. People with a rare bloodline would wield a specific fundamental element without learning any skills. Meanwhile, Epic bloodlines would allow their carriers to wield multiple elements or even a unique element like Blue Fire.

The Highest Grade of Bloodline known to humankind was the Legendary Bloodline. Still, nobody knew which abilities they included because the families that wielded them never came out publicly and stayed in seclusion since the cultivation era started.

In the next 40 years, humans created a system to differentiate the stages achievable through the aether. It started with The body forging Realm, which made the body a perfect vessel to hold the aether. After reaching the 10th stage of the body forging Realm, people could break into the Aether Gathering Realm with aether techniques and reach realms like Harmony or Inner core realm. But for ordinary people, the Body forging Realm was already the end of their cultivation.

Aether techniques could be acquired through pure luck or joining a Cultivation University. There was another way, and that was money, but at a starting price of 15.000.000 $, ordinary people could only dream of gathering this amount of money.

In contrast, body forging Techniques were pretty cheap. The only problem is someone can only practice these techniques and achieve any results after the aether pulse awakening at 13.

The Aether pulse awakening would allow youngsters to feel aether and gather it, and with enough luck, they could even awaken a Bloodline from their Ancestors.

Xiang was in a bad mood after his dream. He hated his family for giving up on him only because of a stupid bloodline. That would never have happened if his great-grandfather was still there, the one who loved him the most and always protected him, but he vanished three years ago before his aether pulse awakening.

"STATUS"

The bracelet around Xiang's wrist opened a blue hologram in front of him. It was a gift from his great-grandfather, who told him never to reveal this bracelet to others.

"What the FUCK!!!"

Xiang was baffled. Usually, behind bloodline would always stand [No Bloodline], but today it was different. What was even more of a surprise for him was that his birthday was tomorrow which means he would awaken his bloodline in less than 20 hrs.

"B...But what is an origin Bloodline."

Xiang searched for two straight hours about origin bloodlines on the Cultivation Network. But he couldn't find anything about it.

Still shocked, Xiang picked up a low-grade healing Elixir that he could barely afford as a high school student abandoned by his parents at 13.

"Gulp..PHEEWWW..."

"Still tastes like shit, but I could lose my spot in the Elite class with my current condition."

While being last in his class, as an elite class member in high school, he gets a monthly allowance of 1500 $ from the School, which allows him to focus on his training. However, with only three months until the university admission exam, he needs to reach at least the 7th stage of body forging Realm to be accepted into a decent Martial Arts University.

Before starting with his cultivation to absorb the elixir faster, he had a lingering thought that his life would change after tomorrow.
