Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The Dead Don't Die

On a floating island in the skies, a vicious battle raged.

A group of warriors fought desperately against towering creatures, each the size of a gorilla.

Their fur was pure black—darker than the void itself.

They had no eyes, only rows of jagged, glowing blue teeth, as if designed purely for destruction.

These beasts were merciless killers—but thankfully, they had one fatal weakness:

A stab to the head or a slash to the neck ended them instantly.

Yet despite their fragile mortality, their numbers were relentless.

Thousands of them filled the battlefield, a sea of darkness and glowing maws.

And even worse—

Once dead, their teeth dimmed, their bodies melting into black mush,

leaving behind no materials to salvage.

"Luo Qing, ma'am, there's no end in sight to these creatures!"

A knight stumbled forward, exhausted and bloodied.

"They may die easily, but they're not easy to kill without sustaining injuries!"

"We've already lost over three men—I think we should retreat—"

The knight's plea was cut short.

SPLASH!

Luo Qing's blade sliced cleanly through his throat, blood spraying across the ground.

She looked down at his collapsing body with cold indifference.

"How many times have I told you to stop calling me by name?" she sneered.

"You must have had a death wish—I'm glad I could fulfill it."

Without a shred of hesitation, she kicked the corpse into the air.

Her blade flashed—

In mere seconds, she had carved him into pieces.

"Rot in pieces."

Her voice was laced with disdain.

On another side of the island—

a young girl, barely 15 years old, moved like a machine.

"Die, die, die, die…"

Her attacks were precise. Efficient. Lethal.

She was no ordinary child—

She was built to kill.

Her father watched proudly, arms folded.

"That's my daughter."

A smug look crossed his face.

"We have to eliminate them all if we want to reach the treasure,

so make sure not a single one survives."

"Die Die Die Die!!!"

The father let out a wry chuckle.

"She takes after her old man… maybe too well."

He exhaled.

"I suppose I trained her too thoroughly.

No matter—

I'll finish off the ones she leaves standing."

Elsewhere on the battlefield— scorching fire descended from the heavens.

"Fire Style, Art 23: Engulfed in the Flames of Death!"

A massive section of the island was suddenly ablaze,

the creatures screaming as they perished in the inferno.

Stepping out from the flames was an old man, seemingly unscathed.

Despite walking through fire, his clothes remained untouched. Even the hair on his head hadn't singed.

He sighed, eyes brimming with nostalgia. "I really am getting too old…"

"In my prime, I could have wiped out every single monster with just a flick of my finger."

- - -

"Yes, you are getting too old." A voice came from behind.

The old man tensed, his instincts sharp.

"Who's there?" he barked.

"Step forward—or don't blame me for being cruel!"

A chuckle sounded.

"So much hostility toward an old friend…"

From the shadows— a figure stepped into the light.

The old man's eyes widened in shock.

If Cheng had been there, he would have screamed.

The man looked exactly like Xie Qing.

The old man's breath hitched.

"Xie Qing…?"

His voice trembled. "I thought you were dead."

Xie Qing's lips curled into a grin.

"Have you ever heard the saying…

'The Dead Don't Die'?"

He laughed.
