From Purgatory came humanoid devils with curved long horns and goat hooves, their arms covered with sulfur scales still burning with flames.
These devils are the genetic prototypes of Medea's "Purgatory Demon" bloodline. Or to trace the bloodline back up, it ultimately leads to some embryonic ancestor who accepted a devil gene transplant.
