After hanging up, Edwin White's expression was inscrutable. No one knew what he was thinking.
The minds of men who controlled great families like his were always exceedingly intricate.
"Mr. White, will Luo Tian actually agree to your proposal? If he doesn't, I fear our subsequent move on Aethelgard will be rather difficult."
"He's an established family in Aethelgard, after all, so he knows the city inside and out. And now you've more or less tipped him off. If he tells Victor Morgan about this, it could be extremely detrimental to us."
One of Edwin White's subordinates spoke respectfully, clearly baffled as to why his boss had revealed this to Luo Tian.
But Edwin White simply gave a cryptic smile in response.
"Rest assured. From what I know of Luo Tian, even if he doesn't work with us, he won't report this to Victor Morgan."
