Chapter 13 - Hitman

"This is a bad idea Ozpin."

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I gotta agree with Jamie here."

"I know, you both have already told me." Ozpin, the headmaster of the Beacon Academy of Huntsmen, said while holding back a groan; of course the one time James and Qrow manage to agree on something, it's against him.

"But I still believe that we might be able to get this young man on our side."

"With all due respect, old friend, Adrian Radcliffe is one of, if not the, most dangerous men on the Remnant. He might be young, but his strength is the real deal." James Ironwood, the headmaster of Atlas' Huntsmen Academy and the general of Atlesian Military, said with a frown. Not liking the risky plan of Ozpin.

"Yeah, about that. If this kid is as dangerous as you claim him to be, how did you people manage to capture him?" Qrow Branwen, one of the stronger huntsmen in the world, said with a doubtful look before pulling out a flask and drinking the alcoholic beverage in it, getting disapproving looks from both men of authority beside him.

"It was luck." Ironwood said with a scowl, looking like it had pained him to utter each syllable of that sentence.

"We found him in a bar, drinking through enough liquor to kill a man more times than one could bother to count. And he still managed to defeat the Ace Operatives and almost defeat specialist Schnee at the same time, only to slip and knock himself out." Ironwood said with a straight face, a startling contrast to the looks Ozpin and Qrow were giving to him.

"You're shitting me, you sure your operatives are actually as good as you want to believe they are?" Qrow snickered as he took another swing from his flask.

"While I do not condone the way Qrow put it, I have to somewhat agree. Are you at least sure that the Ace Operatives and miss Schnee were at their best?" Ozpin asked, far more politely than Qrow. He knew that the Ace Operatives and the eldest daughter of Schnee family were quite formidable, so there had to be some sort of reason for them to be defeated in the way his old friend was describing.

"I checked the recordings of the battle, they were at best shape. That's why I am telling you that this is a bad idea. Radcliffe managed to defeat the best of the best of Atlas while drunk enough to make Qrow the picture of sobriety..."

"Hey!"

"...and would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for him self destructing after almost defeating specialist Schnee as well. Radcliffe is likely the most dangerous man on the Remnant." Ironwood said firmly, not willing to budge from his opinion. But neither was Ozpin.

"Which is why he could be an invaluable asset in our battle against the most dangerous woman on the Remnant." Ozpin pointed out and that shut Ironwood up.

Even if he didn't like it, he couldn't deny the fact that Adrian Radcliffe would be a great help against Salem and her agents.

"What can you tell us about his semblance?" Ozpin asked, changing the subject to a one he was more interested in.

"We are not completely sure. We believed it to be some sort of spatial pocket that allows him to carry his weapons and pull them out whenever he wants. But he has shown to pull out the same weapon more than once, even while the other is still in his hands, so it is likely that it might be a weapon creation semblance instead." James explained it to them.

"Sounds useful, any limits to what kind of weapons he can create?" Qrow asked, while hoping that his surrogate niece never learns of the existence of this guy.

"Not sure, he has created both melee weapons and firearms in battle. The weapons he use the most is a pair of handguns with blades connected to their barrels; he also has created spears, scythes, axes and swords. But they just disappear into nothing when we take them into our hands." James told them, but before he could say anything else, they reached their destination. A metal locked door.

"James, excuse me for interrupting but isn't this..."

"One of the cells we designed for the followers of Salem? Yes, yes it is. I didn't trust any of the other cells to actually hold him." The general of Atlesian Military said as he put his hand on a scanner before showing his eyes to another scanner and then a microphone came out of the door.

"Mint." He said the code with a clear voice and only then, the sound of the door unlocking started.

"He has over seventeen confirmed assassination to his name, all of which were people in high government positions with many strong bodyguards. He managed to kill them before people even realized what was happening, we wouldn't even know that he was responsible for them if he hadn't mocked us over it many times. Meaning there are likely kills that we haven't been able to solve or prove that was committed by him. We also suspect that he may have been in Atlas in order to kill Jacques Schnee. I am not taking any risks." James said with a firm tone, not bothered by the disappointed look Ozpin was giving him or Qrow's unimpressed look as they waited for the many locks to be unlocked.

"Now, you can tell him whatever proposal you have." The general said as the door finally opened to reveal...

"What?!"

...an empty cell.

"This is impossible!" Ironwood yelled as he got into the cell and started to look around, looking for any sign of the prisoner that was supposed to be in the single most secure cell in all of Atlas, if not in all of Remnant.

"Well. I guess..."

"Shut up Qrow!" The general cut off the alcoholic huntsman with a glare, not wanting to deal with his remarks.

"Gentleman, please look up." Ozpin said with a calm tone, not really sounding bothered or worried about the escape of a highly dangerous man, and the two arguing men did as he asked and saw something that the general considered to be very bad.

'I am waiting at your office. -Adrian Radcliffe' A message carved to the ceiling.

Reaching the office of the Atlesian general took a little while, but before long they had arrived by the door of their destination. Each of them carrying their weapons; a high tech rifle with James, an oversized sword with Qrow and a cane with Ozpin.

The Headmaster of Atlas Huntsman Academy kicks the door open and sees...

"Winter!"

...the specialist Schnee tied to his chair with tape over her mouth and her eyes looking frantic as she struggled.

Before they could go in and free her, they each stop at the sound of a gun loading behind them.

"Hello gentlemen, I believe one of you motherfuckers wanted to talk to me." The sheer amount of smug coming from the man behind them was... honestly, there wasn't a word any of the three could describe it.
