(Peter: POV)
After making yet another one of my grand entrances, I webbed one of the nearest enemies to me and knocked him out with one clean punch.
Moving to dodge, given how bad my Spider-sense is flaring right now.
Not because I'm worried about the enemies attacks.
But just because as I've stated before I'm trying to get that observation-style Spider-sense like Assassin Spider-Man.
Which I know is going to be quite a difficult road. But nothing in life is ever easy.
Wait.
Maybe I can just travel to Assassin Spider-Man universe and ask him to teach me how he got his Spider-Sense to its current level.
That is if he doesn't try and kill me first.
Okay, let's put a pin in that for now.
Twirling through the air I shot out two different web lines at two different enemies and pulled them towards me.
Slamming their heads into each other when they reached me.
Reveling in the sound of the satisfying crunch their two skills made when they collided with each other.
Along with my music playing in the background.
He kept dreaming🎵
(Dreaming)
Oh, that someday he'd be the star🎵
(A superstar, but he didn't get far)
But he sure found out the hard way 🎵
That dreams don't always come true (don't always come true)
Oh no (uh-uh, no, uh-uh)
Boy Gladys Knight and the Pips sure can sing.
"Kill that bug bastard!" Hammerhead shouted.
Just as I landed on the ground. Beginning to flip out of the path of bullets his gang were firing at me.
"Ah, why so angry shark man? Upset National Geographic didn't ask you back for Shark Week this year?" I quipped.
Just as I stopped near a nearby wall and immediately began running up it.
Then as I got to the top I pushed off and landed on the platform near me.
Where I then delivered a kick to the stomach of my nearest enemy.
I then grabbed his head and slammed it against the railing, knocking him out.
Once I did I picked him up and used his body as a human shield.
Finding myself slightly surprised when the members of the Hammerhead gang stopped shooting when I took this action.
Telling me although they are criminal scum I guess they have some sort of common decency.
"What the fuck do you idiots think you're doing?? Did I tell you to stop shooting!"
Except for their fucking boss that is.
Alright then.
Making notes of these two things I tossed the unconscious gang member aside.
I then webbed a line to the ceiling and began swinging through the factory.
Using my free hand to fire off electro web bombs at the remaining gang members, taking them out left and right.
Until only Hammerhead himself was left.
The man picking up a gun and pointing at Octavious.
Wrong fucking move.
"Kill the lights." I instructed Spinner.
The second after I did all lights in the factory went out.
"Who turned out the lights?!" Hammerhead questioned.
Putting himself on guard.
Not that it mattered.
For the moment the lights went out I switched my HUD lenses to infared vision.
Once I did I landed on the ground and then sprinted directly at Hammerhead.
Reachng him I delivered a right hook to his jaw.
Sending the man slightly into the air.
Despite our height difference.
But I didn't stop there.
Webbing his arms I pulled him down, delivering a knee thrust to chin.
Hearing the satisfying crunch of bone as I broke his nose.
"Ah, you fucking bastard!" Hammerhead shouted.
Getting to his feet and throwing a punch.
Only for me to dodge with as little effort as possible.
Doing so with all of Hammerhead subsequent punches.
Just enjoying the show as the shark kept moving, but having no idea what direction he was heading in.
But I guess it's like they say, if sharks stop swimming they'll die.
Too bad for Hammerhead then.
For after I got enough of watching him make a complete fool of himself I simply stuck my foot out and tripped him up.
The man falling face first into the ground.
Then once he did I got behind him and put his ass in a chokehold.
Ignoring the gurgling sounds he made as he struggled to break free of the hold.
"Shhh. Shhh. Don't struggle. Go to fucking sleep you damn land shark. You're time is over." I said to him.
Hammerhead eventually passing out.
Once he did I switched of my infared vision.
Immediately after I did the lights came back on.
When they did I walked over to Otto and began freeing him. Until eventually I finished.
"You alright there Dr. Octavious?" I asked him.
"Yes. But my wife."
"Is fine." I cut him off. "My partner Ghost-Spider is handling her and I guarantee you she'll be alright." I spoke. "Trust me."
"I don't know. But you haven't proven yourself incapable thus far."
"I'll take that as a compliment." I replied. "So, if you don't mind me asking what's next for you?"
"Is this really the place for that kind of conversation?" Otto asked me.
"Yeah." I replied. Making sure to web up Hammerhead after I did. Before gesturing to him and and the rest of his unconscious and webbed up gang members. "After all it's not like anyone is going to stop us." I said.
"True." Otto mused. "Well honestly I don't know." He revealed. "My life's work turned into a disaster, and now I have these as a constant reminder." Otto spoke. His tentacles coming front of center.
The man still in control of them and not the other way around.
"Then this whole kidnapping fiasco, and it was all because of my work. I just don't know." Otto explained.
"Hm, yes. I see." I replied. Nodding my head. "You're afraid and beaten down. But Dr. Octavious if I may offer some advice. Don't let that stop you from getting back up. You know I'm a bit of a scientist myself and I have to say your work is truly wonderous. Revolutionary. And sure you've had a set back, but is someone of your caliber really going to let that stop you?"
"You make it sound so easy." Otto mused.
"I'm not saying it will be easy. I just get the feeling your the type of man who can whether that type of storm. On that note what do you think went wrong during your exposition in the first place?"
"Honest truth, I have no idea. My wife and I ran all possible calculations and worked to account for any errors or issues that would arise. The experiment should've worked." Otto said.
"Mhm? Let me ask you Dr. Octavious. When running these models and tests for your fusion reactor did you account for the change in size and increased proportions a full-scale running model of your reactor?"
"Well of course we... didn't." Otto trailed off.
Getting a dumbstruck expression on his face.
"To make such a simple mistake." He muttered.
"Well at least you know what you did wrong now." I spoke.
Hearing police sirens right outside after I did.
"And that's my que. Well until next time Dr. Octavious." I said.
I then webbed up to one of the open windows, slipped through it, and then started webbing away from the factory.
Metting up with Gwen later at our designated meeting place after we rescued the Octavious couple.
Once we did we went to check on the couple on question.
Finding them enjoying a tearful reunion outside the local police precinct.
Letting the two of us know our job concerning them was done.
So with that the two of us webbed off.
Making our way back to the Web.
That is until Gwen suddenly veered off course.
Leading me to follow her.
"Ghost-Spider, what gives?" I asked her.
"That." Gwen spoke.
Pointing down to a figure moving across the roof tops.
Black Cat.
Who Gwen didn't hesitate to immediately landed in front of, while I landed behind her.
The Black Cat looking between the two of us as we cornered her.
A smirk appearing on her face a second later.
"Hey spider. So I guess tonights the night you're finally going to introduce me to your girlfriend huh?"
"Spider-Man, who is she and what is she talking about?" Gwen asked.
A sickeningly sweet tone in her voice.
One the only made Black Cat grin even wider.
"Ladies, I can explain everything." I said.
Really I can.
Especially since this seems like just a good time as any to finally start bringing the people close to Gwen and I into the fold regarding our secret.
So counting your blessings Felicia, since you're up first.
I wonder if you'll still be grinning in a few moments though?
