The doorbell rang.
Ave Carlisle's face lit up with joy, and Emma screeched with excitement, calling out 'Daddy, Alan' before rushing to the living room.
Ave said with a smile, "They must have seen the lights on at home and knew we were back, so they pressed the doorbell."
As the woman spoke, the man had already dashed to the door and reached for the doorknob, then, his hand paused.
"Daddy, hurry and open the door." Emma was too short to reach the lock and, growing impatient, tiptoed to grab Flynn Taylor's hand.
About to see his son, Flynn Taylor was unprecedentedly nervous. Looking back at the woman approaching calmly, he asked, "Is my hair messy?"
Ave shook her head and said, "It's not messy, it's good."
"And my clothes, are they messy?" Flynn Taylor asked again, nervously.
Knowing the man wanted to make a very good first impression on his son, Ave felt touched, walked up to him, and stood on tiptoe to give him a peck, saying, "Alan will like you."
