Catherine's father hesitated for a moment after hearing the white officer's words, and asked, "What if we did see it?"
"So you really went to that village?" the white officer asked.
Although Catherine's father was already old, he still had some backbone. He nodded and said, "That's right, not only did we go, we saw the villagers who were brutally murdered. They were all unarmed civilians. Why did you do it?"
The white officer looked at him, "How do you know it was us?"
"Isn't it obvious? If it wasn't you, why are you so anxious to bring us here?" Catherine's father asked.
"We brought you here to investigate!"
The white officer let out a cold laugh and continued, "This was a secret military operation, and since you accidentally saw it, to prevent any leaks of confidential information, of course we need to thoroughly examine your identities!"
"I've already told you who we are. What do you want now? Are you planning to kill us to silence us?" Catherine's father asked.
