The butler paused for a moment before nodding. "Yes."

As she handed the white shirt to the butler, she realized her old habit now felt somewhat awkward. She quickly changed the subject. "Uh, has he been resting here these past few days?"

"Yes."

Hearing the butler's reply, Rebecca Quentin fell silent.

In the past, whenever he was home, he always wanted her to accompany him, but now they were about to become two unrelated people...

Her thoughts drifted for a long time. By the time she came back to herself, the butler had already gone downstairs. She suddenly seemed to remember something she was reluctant to leave behind and pulled open the bedside drawer.

After removing the leftover condoms and a few financial magazines he often read before bed from the drawer, she took out the jewelry box buried at the very bottom.
