"That was cruel..." - Kaori said while sweating at how much Shizuku was enjoying slowly hacking away at the troll she had faced while laughing madly.
"Is she okay?" - Remia asked with concern.
"I think it's a mix between pent up rage and the maze amplifying her negative emotions" - Cloud replied as he shook his head, though his concentration went straight to the strange metal plate on a nearby pedestal - "I guess that's our target, an interesting metal I didn't expect to see in this place"
"A familiar metal?" - Kaori asked curiously.
"Yes, it's the same one I used for my weapons, the one from the corpse of that giant scorpion that attacked me during my first encounter with Yue" - Cloud answered as he started to think.
He quickly took it and used his ability to analyze it, only to shake his head as he saw that it had all been a waste of time, because had he known that he used this metal as a conductor to open the lock, he would have done from the beginning - "I guess that's what I get for not analyzing things more carefully"
"Everything okay, Cloud?" - Remia asked as she made sure Shizuku was okay.
"Yeah, we'd better get back" - Cloud said as he shook his head.

Shea frowned as she looked at her two rivals - "As you might expect from some old ladies."
"O-Old!" - Yue and Tio exclaimed as they felt their anger increase with each passing second.
"Of course, you guys are so old you could be my great-great-great-grandmothers!" - Shea exclaimed as she puffed out her chest with pride.
Yue's eyebrow began to convulse.
Tio gritted her teeth in fury.
"Did I say the wrong thing?" - Shea asked disdainfully.
"My race is long-lived, which means my numerical age is useless because according to the natural standards of my species, I am about 20 human years old" - Tio growled as she changed the shape of her hands to sharp black claws full of scales.
"What about you, Yue-san?" - Shea asked as she narrowed her eyes - "Do you have an excuse too?"
Yue's expression was getting darker and darker as Shea celebrated that she had finally managed to come out on top in something other than boobs.
Tio slowly backed away because this was a good opportunity to be able to take out two opponents without doing anything.
"Do you want to fight?" - Shea asked as she picked up her trusty giant hammer - "Because I wouldn't mind making you eat snow"
"I think you're letting your power go to your head, you worthless rabbit" - Yue replied as her red eyes glowed with mischief.
Tio continued to watch, though if she was honest with herself, she would have liked to have popcorn so she could have enjoyed this fun event, though her expression changed to a cold one when she felt a movement in the area. She discreetly looked over and noticed the head of a huge glass crocodile peeking out before sinking to the frozen ground.
"Tch" - Tio clicked her tongue before walking over to her two friends and rivals.
"You want to join in too, fatso?" - Shea asked with a frown.
"Save that for another time, we have company" - Tio replied as she shook her head, though after saying those words his attitude returned to normal, as if the switch that made him act like a bitch had been turned off.
"I see..." - Yue muttered as she nodded.
"I guess it was a good idea to stop resisting our dark urges..." muttered Shea as she cocked her head to the side.
"Which old lady... Huh?" - Yue said coldly.
"I'm not lying" - replied Yue while tilting her head.
"Ok, enough, we already understood that despite how nice we are to each other, we have hostile feelings towards each other, we don't need to keep taking each other's insults into account" - said Tio seriously - "Remember that we are wasting our time, which means we will be much more minutes away from our beloved Cloud."
Yue clicked her tongue as Shea nodded, though the trio's expressions changed when they felt the ground shake. They jumped to safety, only to see a pair of huge elongated jaws opening right where they were just a few seconds ago.
"Is that our guest, or were we lucky enough to have another one show up?" - Shea asked with a frown as she firmly gripped her hammer.
"I'm pretty sure it's that thing," replied Tio honestly.
The jaws buried themselves back into the ground, and to the trio's surprise, these disappeared in a matter of seconds.
"I guess that thing can hide a lot faster than it attacks" - Yue muttered while frowning - "That aside, it looks reptilian, a crocodile if I had to bet my money"
"Crystal" - Shea said proudly.
"We know, it's the only theme the monsters in this maze have" - Tio replied as he gave her a blank stare, though he quickly spread his wings and took to the air.
Yue mimicked her friend's actions as she flew to a safe distance.
"Huh? Girls?" - Shea said awkwardly.
"Sorry, we're too old to be able to carry you" - Yue replied pitifully.
"Right, my weak bones don't think they can carry someone as young as you" - added Tio while feigning pity - "Sorry..."
"This isn't funny!" - Shea exclaimed as she felt her ground start to shake, so she started to run, though her trouble didn't end there because the creature seemed to start chasing her - "This isn't fair!"
Yue and Tio smiled slightly as they enjoyed the rabbit girl's screams.

"They're taking too long..." - Cloud said with a frown.
He and his group were in the camp, waiting for Yue and the others to arrive, though it seemed there was something holding them back.
"Maybe something happened and they're trapped?" - Kaori asked with a frown.
"It's possible, I mean, this place is full of traps, so it shouldn't be much of a surprise if that were to happen" - answered Cloud as he started to think - "Ok, I'll go check on them"
"No need" - replied a female voice.
Cloud watched as Yue and Tio were dragging a tired Shea, who was dragging a huge black heart-shaped crystal - "What what what happened?"
Tio smiled slightly as she explained the situation, though obviously leaving out the part where they had let their negative emotions take control of their actions.
"Oh, I see... though now I have just one question" - Cloud said with a frown - "Why didn't you help her?"
"Because she said she could alone" - Yue replied with an honest look.
"Bullshit..." - Shea muttered with difficulty.
"Well, that doesn't matter anymore, the three of us are safe and Shea-san has the heart of the beast" - Tio said calmly - "By the way, it's the only thing with a strange energy source, so possibly the key is inside"
Shea stood up with difficulty, after all, she had been fighting against this thing for more than half an hour, and honestly this shouldn't have been so difficult, the problem was that this monster had a huge physical resistance, which made this crystal crocodile one of the worst enemies she could face.
Cloud shook his head before taking Shea like a princess and carrying her inside the camp to rest, ignoring the jealous looks from Yue and Tio, as well as Shea's happy expression.
"Did I do a good job?" - Shea asked as she snuggled up against the blond.
"Yeah, you deserve a break" - nodded Cloud as he nodded weakly.
"Hey ~!" - Shea smiled happily as she let her beloved blond do whatever he wanted to her.
Yue and Tio clicked their tongues, regretting not helping the girl despite her constant requests.
After leaving Shea resting, he walked to the heart of this monster he was unaware of, and opened it, spreading a crystalline blood everywhere, yet at the same time finding what he was looking for, the second half of this strange mineral.
"I thought you didn't need it, Cloud" - said Kaori as she used magic to clean up the mess Cloud had caused.
"Oh, I don't need it, the thing is that after noticing a few small details, I discovered that this entrance is a sort of portal that opens a path depending on the object we put in this hole" - Cloud answered seriously - "If I use a similar mineral, this door will open, but it will send us possibly where a high level monster, however, if we use the right key, it will open a secret path"
Cloud slowly walked towards the hole with the two metal fragments and put them together before inserting it into the cavity. The door began to release a faint glow for a few seconds before opening, revealing a place full of flowers.
"Surprising, this place doesn't look like it's part of the labyrinth..." - Shizuku muttered as she looked around.
"Possibly, this is a safe room, we might even find a prize, or something" - Cloud replied while tilting his head, after all, this was a normal thing in some games.
