Chapter 52 - Chapter 51

"I have to admit, I'm pleasantly surprised. I wasn't actually expecting him to do anything." I said with my eyebrows raised as I watched the R&D department shake under the pressure of Old Man Genocide's reiatsu. He had went in approximately five minutes ago and nobody else among those watching had the balls to go in after him; which included me, Kyoraku, Ukitake, Unohana, Yoruichi and Soi Fon.

"Maa, that's kind of harsh." Kyoraku said with a sigh as he looked at me. "You did bring the issue to us in a way that he could verify and is now dealing with it. Not like he was just going to leave it."

"And I'm sure that the fact that you're stupidly corrupt government being currently dead has nothing to do with the sheer speed he decided to work." I said with a snort and Kyoraku simply averted his gaze and started whistling.

"While the absence of Central 46 is… helpful for this instance, I believe that you are underestimating how much what you revealed has affected Genryūsai-sensei." Ukitake said with

a small smile, trying to sound as respectful as possible while talking about his shit government. "The Quincies that Kurotsuchi had killed for his sick experiments were placed under our protection by Genryūsai-sensei's order."

"In a way, Kurotsuchi attacked those who were under his protection." Unohana said serenely but I could see small light of vindication in her eyes.

"It's a shame that we need his expertise in the conflict against Aizen, or Yama-jii could have actually killed him."

"Or he could do that anyway and hire Urahara back." I offered an easy solution for their problem. "The clown is just poor man's version of Urahara anyway. That weirdo can do anything this clown can and he can do it without turning the laboratory into a butcher shop."

"Unfortunately, the head captain would never let go of a valuable resource like Kurotsuchi during a time like this. He would just make use of both of them." Yoruichi said with a sigh.

"Heh, nice to see that the monster hasn't lost all of his viciousness." I said with a chuckle, getting a glare from Soi Fon for some reason.

"Have care how you speak, Ryoka. Aizen's betrayal being the higher priority is the sole reason you and your friends are allowed to roam free right now, that can change at any moment."

"You mean the betrayal that turned out to be the whole reason me and my friends were here because none of you except the little white haired captain and lady Unohana here suspected foul play on executing someone for doing their job with what is basically a sacred relic?" I asked innocently as I looked down at the glowering captain before making a chagrined expression. "Oh, my apologies. I meant what was basically a sacred relic."

"You!" As her hand went down at her sword, Yoruichi appeared behind her and held her by her shoulders.

"Now now, let's all calm down. No need for things to get ugly after we finally managed to clear all the misunderstandings." The chocolate skinned Shinigami said as she frowned at me. Unfortunately I was too busy memorizing the tomato blush of Soi Fon to pay attention to her disapproval. And the way her chest was pressed on the smaller captain's back of course.

"Of course, no more misunderstandings. Especially since the last one had caused me to beat her ass." I nodded sagely and ignored Yoruichi's 'not-helping' look and Soi Fon's renewed struggles.

"I am rather surprised." And instead focused on Unohana, who was looking at me without her signature smile. "You talk as if you know what captain commander used to be like."

"My family was proud of keeping records." I said with a shrug. "Obviously not everything is likely accurate and there was a lot of bias towards the Quincy side despite never talking about what started the war." I then turned to her and smiled. "But they were quite consistent when it came to the first generation of Gotei and the demon wreathed in flames that led those bloodthirsty monsters." I told her, my smile not twitching even for a moment, and she smiled back at me with cold eyes. Showing that she perfectly understood my message and sending one right back at me.

'I know who you are.'

'I don't care.'

"So, the clown is not dead but he likely won't be a problem for any of us for a very long time." Cain said with his arms crossed over his chest. "On the other news, you might see some of the wannabe ninjas watching you. Do not be alarmed, it's all because the midget captain with washboard chest is mad at me for kicking her ass." And then got swatted by Yoruichi.

"Your comments are not helping."

"I think I actually may have liked you more as a cat."

While they were bickering, Tatsuki looked at Ishida and Orihime; both of whom just looked perplexed by the antics of their friends.

Was it only her that was upset by what she heard? Of how the maniac who killed his own guys and wanted to put them on a dissection table was basically getting away with a slap on the wrist? She didn't care how strong and fearsome this captain commander was supposed to be, there was no way this was enough!

"Cain..." Whatever she had been about to say, it would remain unknown forever as the wall next to them suddenly exploded.

As she rose back from the ground, her arms covered in scales, she saw the huge form of the Shinigami captain that had helped them.

"The hell?! You said Ichigo would be here, Yachiru!" And the small kid that hung on his shoulder. "He ain't here!"

"No no, I said he was on the other side Ken-chan!" And she was slapping the man with a comical expression of anger.

"Why are you looking for Ichigo?" Cain asked, looking like the small explosion of debris hadn't effected him at all.

"You people said I could fight him if I helped you! But he ran away!" Kenpachi yelled and even stomped his foot like a child throwing a tantrum, though it was far more fearsome since it felt like an earthquake happened each time he stomped.

"So Ichigo bitched out of his promise." Cain said while caressing his chin. Tatsuki thought about how Ichigo had made no promises and was simply told about the promise after it was made but then decided that she didn't want Kenpachi's attention on herself. "There's a very easy solution to that."

He then conjured his sword and rested its edge on his shoulder. "Where's the nearest place we can fight?"
