After hearing the Protector's words, the bespectacled man knew he shouldn't tap on the handcuffs again. The officer was a Protector, after all. But the more he inspected them, the paler his face became. He couldn't find anything unusual at all.
These handcuffs are actually real! he thought, shocked.
"So? How's the inspection coming along?" Xia Liang asked with a faint smile. "Are the handcuffs real, or is there some hidden mechanism?"
The bespectacled man gritted his teeth and said, forcing himself to remain calm, "Even if they're real, that officer must not have locked them properly when he cuffed you!"
Indeed, some handcuffs can be pulled apart if not fastened tightly enough, so there was some merit to his reasoning.
"Oh, is that so?" Xia Liang said with a playful smile. "In that case, why don't you cuff me yourself?"
