Chapter 408 - I'm Not Too Sure

"Apollo, I-" I thought that if I said his name the right words would come with it but they didn't. His name just hung in the air as we both looked at each other. For the first time as a King, as his brother, a husband and a father I felt completely helpless.

Apollo didn't cry. He never did. He was the sunshine of the palace with his careless ways and sense of humor. He was the air the palace sometimes needed when things were too tense. To see him upset. This upset. That for the first time I didn't see the sixteen year old boy I had to help raise but the thirty-three year old man that stared back at me.

Iris and Apollo had peace knowing that I wouldn't end up like Pa. That I too wouldn't succumb to that way of life. Yet here I was, proving them wrong.
