Roxy's POV
The sky cracked first.
Not thunder. Not lightning. A sound like bone snapping in the heavens.
Transylvania answered immediately.
The land under my feet groaned, ancient and offended, as if something buried deep inside had just been called by its true name. I felt it before I saw it. That pull. That hollow pressure behind my ribs that only one thing ever caused.
Annihilation.
"Oh no…" I whispered, fingers curling into fists. "Fuck it dude...You chose this place?"
The palace rose....
Stone tore itself free from the earth, blackened marble grinding against roots and coffins and centuries of silence. Towers unfolded like breathing ribs! Windows burned open with violet fire.
The Transylvanian Palace had awakened.
His prettiest stop. Annihilation's.
Of course it was.
I swallowed, my throat dry. My anxiety crawled up my spine like something alive, whispering all the things I hated hearing.
You are tired.
You are alone.
You cannot take him.
