The old man didn't respond but continued to observe the young man in front of him. He saw that the young man's flesh and skin were youthful; the voice belonged to someone less than 50 years old.
Yet, he felt a threat emanating from the young man. The old man was a Magic Lord. It had taken him hundreds of years to reach this level before he was injured.
He doubted the young man in front of him was actually a Magic Lord. Instead, he believed the youth was carrying some kind of magic artifact. Only that could explain the sense of threat.
The old man pondered whether to attack or not. If he could obtain such an artifact, he could do something about his injury. He could sell the artifact for a high price and, with that money, heal himself.
The bandits and wandering wizards were retreating to the far end of the cave, including the flying Salamander. Everyone felt the current uneasiness; a battle could break out at any moment.
