Chapter 19 - Preparations

Idris had finally found the one who had initiated the assassination. He would kill him as soon as he would see him.

He asked some people in town where marquis Larmanton lived. He found his answer after the 3rd try.

Then he returned to the mansion, announcing the news to the servants, who had already waited for him at the front door. They were relieved, since they could continue with their jobs. There was also money coming in, because Idris had inherited a mine, which had belonged to marquis Asteria before.

Idris gave himself 5 days time to kill that bastard.

He began to train harshly, practicing the new spells. He didn't even pause to eat.

His servants tried to stop him, but didn't succeed. They always placed food in front of their master's door, trying not to disturb him. They wondered how Idris could practice spells in his room. Normally one goes out to a training field or so to do it.

---------------

After 4 days passed, Idris finally came out of his room. He had almost perfected the 5 spells. and most of his elements had a brakethrough to the next stage.

He came out to go into the city and buy a knife. He had his Lightning Strike, but didn't have a weapon to perform it.

He went through several stores searching for the right size and weight. He didn't have any experience with knifes and just took the one that suited him the best.

He moved to a field located outside the city. He took his knife and activated Lightning Strike. Lightning began to surround the blade and it shone violet. Rays of electricity shot away every few seconds.

Idris held the knife high and swung it down. A blade of lightning formed in the air, shooting at the tree he aimed at.

The tree was smoothly cut in half and sparks could be seen spraying in every direction. They were so hot that the grass around began to burn, as the sparks landed on the ground.

Idris casted Waterfield to extinct the fire. A shhh sound could be heard, when the flames were put out.

Idris was astonished. The Spell he had just casted was far more amazing than he thought. It was only at the advanced stage, but already so powerful, even on par with an expert ranked spell. Lightning was the 3rd strongest element after all.

Next he wanted to test his other skills. He activated Fire Lance. It was just a flame lance and there was nothing special about it. It was just a bit hotter than normal fire.

Idris was disappointed. It was an advanced spell, but it was so normal.

He let the lance disappear again and activated his next skill. Wind Armor was a protective barrier erected around the body. To test it, Idris had to fire one of his spells at himself.

He shot a fireball and controlled it so that it came straight back at him. As the fireball touched the wind surrounding his body, it just vanished. He hadn't even felt anything.

To further try the Wind Armor out, Idris used an even stronger attack next. He used his Lightning Strike. He directed the blade again, so that it shot back at him. The Lightning Strike touched the armor and Idris was sent flying backwards.

Even though he didn't get injured, his armor had broken and he felt a stabbing pain in his chest. The Lightning Strike really wasn't something to joke with.

He recovered his light injury for 15 minutes and began to test again. Next would be his Dark Domain. A black sphere formed around Idris. He could feel his darkness element increase its strength rapidly. It was at least threefold the original power.

He used a darkness spell he had learned as a side skill. Its name was "Revert". It could revert the age of the body of any living thing. It normally took some time for the process, but as he activated it while casting Dark Domain, the tree he had cut in half before, shrunk in the matter of seconds.

The power of his first expert ranked spell was terrifying.

Then he finally casted the last spell he had learned during his 4 day long seclusion. It was Dark Flames, something he had waited for the whole day.

As he activated it, the ground in front of Idris began to burn. Extreme heat emanated from them. He casted Waterfield to extinct the fire, but was shocked, when the water was vaporized. The fire was just too strong.

Since he didn't know what to do anymore, he ran away as fast as he could.

The fire was soon put out by the knights who wondered who or what could have made it. It was way too hot for a normal fire, so they figured someone must have put the ground intentionally on fire.

Meanwhile Idris had already returned to his mansion and looked for a mind-destroying spell. He soon found a light element king ranked spell called "Spirit Destruction", which allowed the user to destruct a person's mind at will.

It was a perfect fit for him, as he wanted to use it for torture.

Destroying the mind and spirit of someone is very painful and almost no one can survive it.

Idris started learning the technique directly after finding it.

---------------

Afternoon of the 5th day.

Idris had bought black clothes, since he didn't want to be seen in the dark, when he would act.

His knife was attached to his waist.

A smirk formed on his face as he stood outside marquis Larmanton's house.

He waited for him to feel save and then attack him.
