Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Ignored

Ten minutes later, the breakfast delivery arrived. Nancy Sutton walked over to the door and took the delivery, placing it on the dining table.

She called Bianca Sutton and Mason Sutton over to eat.

Bianca Sutton and Mason Sutton had already heard the commotion and jogged over to the dining table. They unpacked the delivery and began eating with great enjoyment.

Nancy Sutton watched Bianca Sutton and Mason Sutton with a distant gaze, her thoughts drifting away.

She thought about the recent gossip news and vaguely came to a conclusion that it was probably Joy Sutton or Sharon Warren who started it.

Almost certainly.

Nancy Sutton looked at the two children eating breakfast and sighed deeply. Although she really wanted to confront Joy Sutton, she needed to take care of the children, so she decided to let it go.

After all, those news were just internet rumors and would soon be replaced by other news, quickly forgotten by passersby.

Mason Sutton noticed that Nancy Sutton wasn't eating and thoughtfully picked up a dumpling, placing it in her bowl.

His round eyes fixed on Nancy Sutton.

"Mommy, eat breakfast!"

Seeing this, Bianca Sutton also followed suit and moved a cup of soy milk in front of Nancy Sutton.

"Mommy, drink soy milk."

Nancy Sutton's eyes widened in surprise, and she couldn't help but smile slightly. She gently caressed Mason Sutton and Bianca Sutton's heads.

"Alright, thank you both."

The three of them started eating happily, and in no time, the delivery was finished.

Nancy Sutton tidied up a bit, and suddenly, the phone in her pocket rang. The caller was her close friend, Sean Grant.

Nancy Sutton was puzzled but still pressed the answer button.

She asked, "What's up? Did something happen again? Why are you calling me?"

Sean Grant sounded a bit anxious as he said,

"Nancy, quickly check Weibo. That jerk Simon Grant posted something."

Nancy Sutton was confused, wondering why it matters to her that the jerk Simon Grant posted something.

Nevertheless, she called Mason Sutton over to bring her the tablet to check Simon Grant's Weibo post.

She was completely taken aback by what she saw.

Simon Grant had actually posted screenshots of messages from when they dated, with a caption saying this woman was too seductive and that he fell for it.

Sean Grant sensed Nancy Sutton's silence from the other end, feeling a bit worried, so he asked,

"Nancy, are you okay?"

"I'm perfectly fine."

Nancy Sutton's voice carried a trace of anger, her expression was very grim, indicating she was enraged by that jerk Simon Grant.

Sean Grant, having been close friends with Nancy Sutton for so many years, quickly noticed a subtle change in her tone and proactively suggested,

"How about I help you take care of Mason and Bianca?"

True to being Nancy Sutton's best friend, Sean Grant immediately knew what to do, and Nancy Sutton's expression eased a little.

"Alright, you can come over to pick them up, and I'll go settle the score with Simon Grant."

Sean Grant: "Okay."

After saying this, Nancy Sutton hung up the phone and turned to Mason Sutton and Bianca Sutton, speaking to them calmly.

"In a bit, Auntie will take you out to play. You need to be obedient, okay?"

Bianca Sutton clapped happily at the mention of going out to play.

"Yay! Yay!"

Mason Sutton showed a hint of joy but still asked considerately,

"What about Mommy? Are you coming with us?"

Nancy Sutton's face showed some regret as she shook her head.

"Mommy can't go; there's something important I need to handle."

Upon hearing this, Mason Sutton and Bianca Sutton's joy was halved, but neither of them complained.

In the afternoon, after Sean Grant finished work, he quickly came to Nancy Sutton's house to look after Mason Sutton and Bianca Sutton.

He took them out, planning to go to the amusement park.

Before leaving, Bianca Sutton, feeling a bit reluctant to part with Nancy Sutton, motioned for her to bend down.

Nancy Sutton raised an eyebrow but complied with Bianca Sutton's request and leaned down.

Bianca Sutton stood on tiptoe, gently kissed Nancy Sutton's cheek like a dragonfly skimming the water.

Bianca Sutton then returned to his original position: "Mommy, I'll miss you."

Nancy Sutton smiled indulgently and waved at them as a farewell gesture.

Once the door closed, the smile on Nancy Sutton's face faded. She stepped into the bedroom and changed her clothes.

A white suit paired with black trousers gave off an air of indifference, making her look quite intimidating.

Nancy Sutton put on a black watch and checked the time.

She took a taxi to the bar Simon Grant used to frequent, and at 7 PM, Simon Grant would already be in the bar's East Wing.

At this time, the bar wasn't too crowded, making it easy to spot people. Nancy Sutton quickly found Simon Grant.

At the same time, Liam Quincy was also in the bar's East Wing, discussing a project with someone when he casually caught sight of Nancy Sutton.

His brows knitted tightly, and he pressed his lips into a thin line.

Why is she here?

Could it be she's looking for me?

It must be!

Liam Quincy was confident in his assumption and, addressing his business partner, raised a hand to stop their conversation.

His voice carried a hint of apology.

"I'm sorry, I need to step out for a moment."

The business partner was momentarily stunned and couldn't fathom what Liam Quincy needed to do at this time, but maintained a smile, pretending to be generous.

"Alright, attend to your matters, Mr. Quincy."

Liam Quincy nodded, stood up, and briskly walked toward Nancy Sutton, determined to have her back down.

He didn't want her to cling to him any longer.

The more Liam Quincy considered it, the more he was convinced that stopping her now was the right thing to do.

Nancy Sutton also walked toward the East Wing, and just like that, the two came face to face. Nancy Sutton was quite surprised to see Liam Quincy in such a place.

She unreservedly scanned Liam Quincy up and down for a few seconds.

Liam Quincy was about to speak to discourage her from following him when, in an instant, Nancy Sutton took a step forward.

She brushed past Liam Quincy as if she hadn't seen him.

Liam Quincy didn't expect this outcome, stood there for a few seconds, and opened his mouth slightly in surprise, unable to process what had just happened.

After finally coming back to his senses, Liam Quincy turned to look at Nancy Sutton's figure.

He saw her walk up to a man, and furrowing his brows, he took a closer look at the man's face.

In that moment, he recognized the man as his nephew Simon Grant. Why was Nancy Sutton seeking him out?

Weren't they broken up long ago? Shouldn't there be no contact by now? Why is there this scene of an ex looking for their former partner?
