Corino's hand, poised to pull the trigger, was tightly gripped by an invisible force, as if caught by a powerful mechanical arm. A cold voice sounded in his ear, "Senator Corino, don't rush."
Invisible shadows wrapped around his body, controlling his husk.
These shadows, like tiny, dense insects, began to burrow into his skin, into his body.
A slightly amused cold voice continued to whisper in his ear, "Since you're ready to die, why not lend your body to me."
"He——"
Corino opened his mouth but found he could no longer make a complete sound. The surging shadows were gradually taking control of his body.
Thud—thud—thud——
At that moment, slow footsteps could be heard outside the door.
"Who?" the cold voice abruptly turned towards the door.
At that instant, a breeze swept through the slightly chilly air, reaching his back.
Corino only felt his body pause, and he suddenly felt lighter.
But in the next moment, he was pulled sideways by the shadow behind him, flying outwards.
