"You cannot do this, Your Highness!" The Emperor's private secretary shouted in surprise when Louis barged inside the Emperor's study during his absence.
The guards could only do so much to stop the heir to the throne. Using force would only lead towards disaster for them. While Secretary Charles wanted to stop Louis from moving further inside the study, the sword in the latter's hand was enough of a warning for him to stay away.
It was treason for one to roam around the palace with an unsheathed sword, much less near the Emperor's chambers, but it seemed like the Prince didn't care. It was clear that his mind was elsewhere.
Louis had one thing in his mind. To find the annulment papers and see if his mother told the truth. And kill her if she had lied, but if it was true... Louis closed his eyes and gritted his teeth as anger like no other bubbled inside him.
