Chapter 158 - [158]: Invitation

Any Spirit Bone that looked special was no ordinary item. Wang Nan was satisfied as he put it away, feeling that the risk had been worth it.

From the Ice Sea in the north to Star Luo City, with Wang Nan's current speed, it would take less than half a day to return.

Although two years had passed, Wang Nan had returned home during that time. Otherwise, if he had gone to the Sun Moon Empire for a monitoring mission and not sent any news for two years, the people at Shrek Academy might have imagined all sorts of stories.

As Wang Nan's cultivation grew stronger, he also brought many things home. However, his parents' lives hadn't changed much.

For most Spirit Masters, owning a courtyard in Star Luo City, the capital of the Star Luo Empire, and lacking for nothing in daily life was already the dream life.

"Dad, I'm back."

It was the familiar home entrance. Wang Nan didn't need to deliberately control it; his mental force had already swept across the small courtyard.

Seeing Wang Xing practicing with his rod in the backyard, Wang Nan's eyes widened slightly, revealing a surprised smile.

"Dad, you've broken through to level 60?"

Just a moment ago, Wang Nan had spoken at the entrance, and now, he had already appeared in the backyard.

Wang Xing was not tall, just average for a Spirit Master. At this moment, he was swinging his Coiling Dragon Staff. Though his Spirit didn't contain a Dragon Soul, there was still an unyielding aura as he swung it.

Wang Xing heard him and put away his Spirit. Just in time, he saw Wang Nan walking over.

"Is your training finished?"

"Yes," Wang Nan nodded. "Dad, when did you break through?"

"Not long ago." Wang Xing picked up his jacket from the side and put it on before walking into the house with Wang Nan. "I owe it to the cultivation insights you brought back. I never thought I'd also break through to level 60."

"That's perfect! I'll take you to acquire a spirit ring."

Wang Xing glanced at Wang Nan and couldn't help but laugh. "Alright."

As they spoke, Wang Nan looked around again. In one corner of the courtyard, there was still a small mark. Though it had been repaired, one could still see where a rod print had once been left.

Wang Xing followed Wang Nan's gaze. "When you become a Titled Douluo in the future, people might even come to visit this mark."

"Then let them come. By then, I'll take you and Mom to live in a better place."

"No need," Wang Xing waved his hand and looked around again. "I'm used to living here. Isn't it good to live in Star Luo City? If you really find us a better place, we won't be used to it, and it will just cause you more trouble."

"Alright, then I'll find someone to redecorate this place."

Wang Xing finally didn't refuse and nodded with a smile.

"You child, why don't you say anything when you come home? When I heard voices, I thought we had visitors."

"I just got back, didn't I?" Wang Nan replied playfully, opening his arms and hugging his mother. A faint golden light shimmered under his clothes.

"Alright, alright. I never saw you this clingy when you were little. How long will you be back? And what do you want to eat?"

Wang Nan had been training in the Ice Sea, constantly eating Sea Soul Beasts. Though they were highly nourishing, their taste was ultimately a bit bland. Upon hearing this, his mouth began to water.

"Anything but fish is fine."

"Alright." Wang Nan's mother smiled. "You and your dad talk first; I'll go buy some things."

Two figures flew through the sky, slowly descending only after approaching the Star Dou Great Forest.

"This flying spirit tool is indeed a good thing."

The two people who came here were Wang Xing and Wang Nan. Wang Xing put away the flying spirit tool on his back, exclaiming.

"Indeed." Wang Nan nodded in agreement. "Actually, it's not just flying spirit tools; many other spirit tools are also very convenient for daily life, not just for combat. In the Sun Moon Empire, almost every household has spirit tools. You and Mom can also try them sometime."

"Speaking of that, I remember now. The imperial family has also been promoting the use of spirit tools. I heard that those who need them can go directly to purchase them."

Wang Nan nodded at this.

Among the emperors of the Three Great Empires, Xu Jiawei was the youngest. Similarly, the Star Luo Empire had the highest acceptance of spirit tools, making him a relatively good emperor among them.

"Let's not talk about this for now, Dad. Do you have any requirements for your new spirit ring?"

Wang Nan asked with a smile.

"What requirements could I have? I never even imagined I could train to this point, let alone have specific requirements for Spirit Abilities."

"Alright then, we'll walk and see. At the very least, I'll find you a ten-thousand-year Spirit Beast."

Returning to the Star Dou Great Forest, Wang Nan and Wang Xing no longer felt the same nervousness they had when they first arrived.

There were almost no ten-thousand-year Spirit Beasts in the outer region. As soon as any trace of Wang Nan's aura leaked out, the surrounding Spirit Beasts fled without a trace.

As they gradually ventured deeper, the age of the surrounding Spirit Beasts increased. Wang Nan became more serious, constantly scanning the surroundings.

Wang Xing's gaze, however, occasionally swept over Wang Nan, a slight smile always on his lips.

Wang Nan pushed aside the bushes and stepped deeper into the forest. The sound he made caused some timid Spirit Beasts to flee, and several bird-type Spirit Beasts on the trees also flapped their wings.

Just then, a powerful and familiar aura came from deep within the forest. Even if it had intentionally concealed itself, Wang Nan was no longer the same as before; its aura was completely exposed to his senses.

As if sensing Wang Nan's gaze, a figure slowly walked out from deep within the forest.

It resembled a lion, with four dragon-like claws, golden fur all over its body, and three eyes on its head, all emitting golden light.

As soon as it appeared, the tear-shaped crystal on Wang Nan's left wrist flashed with nine-colored light.

"You follow me."

The Three-Eyed Golden Lion spoke, its voice clear.

Wang Xing, who was beside him, was startled, but seeing that Wang Nan showed no surprise, he felt a little more at ease.

"You have to tell me what it is first; I have other things to do."

The Three-Eyed Golden Lion tilted its head, glanced at Wang Xing, and then looked back at Wang Nan.

"Spirit ring?"

"Yes," Wang Nan nodded.

"Follow me." With that, the Three-Eyed Golden Lion turned and ran deeper into the forest.

"Nan'er, this…"

"It's alright, Dad, let's follow."

If it were any other Spirit Beast, Wang Nan might have hesitated, but seeing the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, he felt much more at ease.

The Dragon God's Tear was still on his wrist. Some Spirit Beasts who didn't know the full story might still attack him, but the one deep in the forest would definitely not harm him.
