A new path has opened up to me. One I hadn't really considered before. Learning Magic!
I even received a notification that I received my [Wooden Talisman - (Bound)]. I made sure Roselia was gone before I activated Inventory to store it away. Roselia doesn't know all the functions the Gamer System can use, Inventory being one of them. It's a card I can play on her, I can't wait to see her surprised look once she sees me activate Inventory for the first time, haha!
And on top of everything that has happened, Roselia is even giving me the opportunity to create a Familiar. It would be along the likes of Celine and Grianos. How cool would it be to have a Familiar? Oh geez, I probably need to start thinking of names, don't I?
As Roselia stated, Familiars are essentially constructs created through one's own Mana. In extreme cases, one's own soul can be split apart to create this Familiar. It sounds like Roselia is intending to use her own Mana for this one, and bind it to my soul, rather than the latter. Familiars typically take on the form of animals. Given enough training or enough Mana to the being you bond with, they can achieve a Human Form, allowing the Familiar to transform into a human. You'd see this with Celine in the Cold Steel games, although she constantly states how she dislikes turning into a human, haha!
And with what I previously stated, if I were ever given a chance for this to happen, I already have my choice. I've always enjoyed how Fox Familiars look. I've decided that mine will white fox. The hard part will be deciding its name. Currently, I'm considering the name Hikari. It means Dawn, and it refers to the light of the sun that peeks over mountaintops to start the day. If I do it this way, it will honor my late mother, Aurora.
Hikari has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?
That might not be the name I decide on when it's finalized, though. And this Familiar business won't happen immediately. I need to enter Eryn Village first, and officially become Roselia's disciple. From there, I will need to learn how to use Mana and such, and train along with the other Witches. It'll be a good chance to interact with Emma and Vita too. In fact, you know the village Roselia is from, Eryn Village? It even becomes a base of operations in the latter half of the Cold Steel games!
Still, as much as I am now looking forward to in regard to Familiars, something is currently in store for me. Roselia was now out of my room, leaving me alone. I had reviewed all my Status information, apart from checking whether or not meeting Testa-Rossa triggered anything. I'll need to see that later. I could waste some more time doing so, but do you really want to keep a man like Giliath waiting? I'm afraid not.
Hopefully Father will give me enough time to do my Daily Quest today. Doing today's Daily Quest will inch me ever so closer to being one third complete. It'll be that in a couple days. And if I start going back and forth from Eryn Village, that shouldn't interrupt my Daily Quest jogging, even if Roselia wants me to finish up all my current matters. If I can unlock Daily Quest V2, it'll just be added training to studying Magic!
Now you might wonder. Eryn Village is situated on the other side of Erebonia, right before the Port City Ordis. It'd normally take ages for me to head there every single day, but here's the kicker. The Hexen Clan has a special formation you can use during the third game of Cold Steel, allowing you to teleport in and out of Eryn Village itself. How cool is that?
I mean seriously, teleportation magic is extremely convenient. I hope to master this spell among others. It'll allow me to visit anyone I want to in the coming years!
With that in mind, I was indeed alone. I had no more time to waste in my room. I got dressed to start my Sunday. I had to look prim and proper. If Father is taking me somewhere, it's likely going to be serious. Not a training excursion this time around. After getting all ready, I left my room. I was able to make it back to the first floor. I saw Giliath, Kasia and Rean chatting away with each other. Breakfast was also set. Mother did say she would make my favorite eggs, so I couldn't wait to dig in. Yet the moment Kasia saw me, she jumped out of her chair, and quickly approached me.
"Naoto!", Kasia exclaimed, suddenly giving me a hug. I paused in place, not expecting Mother to do this.
"Mom?", I asked, wanting to find out.
"You aren't hurt anywhere, are you?", Kasia responded back at me. I pondered for a moment wanting to know what all that encompassed. She likely doesn't know about Testa-Rossa's nor Roselia's matter, so I gently shook my head.
"I feel fine, mom. Is something wrong?", I answered. Giliath smiled hearing me say this.
"See Kasia my dear? Naoto turned out fine after meeting our guest. I told you not to worry.", Giliath stated.
"I know you did, but a mother can worry about their son, can they not?", Kasia responded back, still worried. I think I know what they're getting at here.
"You probably heard me right, mom? I'm sorry if I caused you worry. I can tell you I'm fine and dandy. The person who met me earlier has also departed. I am free now.", I said, trying to ease Mother's worry. Hearing that, I saw Kasia's eyes drop a little, and gave me another hug.
"Well, as long as you're feeling fine Naoto, that's all that matters. I've made you your favorite eggs! You will have to leave with daddy today, but there's enough time to have some breakfast with us.", Kasia said. Any lingering worry vanished. I looked over to Giliath.
"Dad?", I asked, calling out. It looks like I'll indeed be heading somewhere. The only question, where to exactly?
"Come and eat some breakfast first, son. After that, we can talk.", Giliath said, calling me over.
"I guess that will be for the best. You can't depart on an empty stomach, fufu.", Kasia replied, letting out a giggle. Taking my hand, the two of us wandered back to the dining table. A delicious aroma entered my nose, causing my eyes to light up in happiness. My stomach growled, and all of us laughed.
We all dug in, and enjoyed a nice breakfast. The food went down quickly, and breakfast ended before I realized it. As Kasia began to bring the plates back into the kitchen, I saw Giliath turn my way. He was still drinking some of his coffee. He hadn't finished it yet.
"Naoto, you have been invited to Valflame Palace. His Imperial Majesty has invited you. You will be heading there later tonight, and I will be in attendance along the way.", Giliath declared, causing me to become surprised.
"His Imperial Majesty invited me? Really!?", I exclaimed in shock.
"Indeed he did, son. And I do appreciate you trying to get all dressed and proper, but you cannot greet His Imperial Majesty dressed in that shabby outfit.", Giliath responded, retorting to me. He took this time to look at my current appearance. All I was wearing was a blue shirt and black pants. Rean was wearing a simple black shirt with white pants. These outfits didn't have any popular brands. I saw him eying me earlier. The reason likely being is that Father is dressed in his full military garb, from top to bottom. I could even see the several tiny medals he's earned throughout his service career. Seeing this, I couldn't help but sigh. Even Kasia turned to look back at Giliath, which drew my attention.
"Do you think it is time, husband?", Kasia asked, catching me off guard. I wonder, what exactly is she referring to here? Asking that definitely caused my interest to grow.
"I think so, Kasia my dear. This day would come eventually.", Giliath answered, nodding his head. "Naoto, listen well. Before your mother passed, she left you a little inheritance. As you've been invited by His Imperial Majesty, now is no better time than to bring it out to you.", Giliath continued to say.
Inheritance, huh? Knowing my mother's standing with the Auslese royalty, I figured there would be something like this down the line. I just didn't think I'd receive something this early on. I also saw Kasia nod her head in agreement.
"That's right. Your daddy and I previously agreed on only showing you this when the time was right, Naoto. It wouldn't happen until you received this invitation by the current Emperor of Erebonia. First appearances do matter a lot in noble society. This should be a perfect opportunity to present you properly.", Kasia said, also chiming in.
"Wait, did I hear that right? I myself am going to be introduced to His Imperial Majesty!?", I asked back, shocked once again. The two chuckled hearing me respond like that.
