Chapter 473 - Chapter 68: Initial Planning

Little did I know that a certain meeting was beginning to take place just right in the outskirts of Erebonia's capital, held within its shadows. On one side is an individual who calls himself the Jaeger King, and he has the strength to back that title up. It isn't just for show. He truly is one of the strongest Jaegers out there, and his weapon is badass too, a gunglaive. He can strike long range, mid range, and close range. He knows how to close gaps in just a mere moment, and is quite a dangerous fellow. On top of that, he has this laid back attitude, which makes the corp he manages a more welcoming one. A corp called Zephyr.

Then you have a monstrosity who goes by the name Sigmund Orlando. He's the right-hand man to the individual who actually leads the corp they're assigned to, the Red Constellation. His name goes by Baldur Orlando, or more commonly known as the War God. It wouldn't be until S1203 during the Sky games that the War God and the Jaeger King have a duel that lasts for an entire three days and nights, only for both of them to perish in a draw. Right now, it is S1189, so there is more than a decade until this happens. I don't need to worry about it for now.

But if anything, the individual here who is meeting with the Jaeger King is a much more frightening person, who goes by the name Sigmund Orlando, or the Red Ogre. He eventually brings his own daughter into the corp who is quite crazy herself, Shirley Orlando. You'll get to see her later on starting from the Crossbell games and get many opportunities to fight her as a boss battle.

And then you got the boy who was standing next to the Red Ogre. Randolph Orlando, who eventually becomes "Randy" and joins the Crossbell Guardian Force, or CGF for short, and later on joins the SSS alongside Lloyd Bannings once the group forms. Right now, he is but a mere six-year old boy who all he knows right now is how the battlefield works. That's why he has such dead eyes. This meeting was taking place on the eastern side of Heimdallr.

I should go into Jaegers too, huh?

If I had to relate them to modern times, they are essentially privately-owned militias. They enjoy earning money above all else, or mira in this case. Give them enough, and they'll do whatever work you want, regardless of it breaking laws or not. And if the job seems interesting enough, many corps will compete for the contract, much like what is happening here. Whatever contract that was taking place was enough to attract both Zephyr and the Red Constellation. It can range anywhere from petty theft to stealing entire warehouses, kidnapping, escorts, protection, even murder. Hell they'll even wipe your asss if they consider you interesting, as long as they get paid.

It's not like I haven't had any thoughts on Jaegers. They are by far the best way to gain real combat experience. Monsters can only take you so far. Jaegers practically live on the battlefield. Fie relates to it a lot as you learn more about her while you play as Rean. They're very different from Bracers who mostly focus on fighting monsters and helping keep peace around towns and cities. As for soldiers, they mostly fight fellow humans following orders of their nation.

But to experience real life and death situations, becoming a Jaeger is by far the best way to do so. They have a lot of freedom too.

I have a plan in motion right now that will last me a good while for the rest of my childhood into my early teens. It goes as follows:

Become Roselia's Disciple, and learn Magic.

Acquaint myself with Erebonia's Imperial Family and its surrounding nobles or figures of influence.

Create a Familiar. I didn't go into too much depth on this topic yet, but if you become a Witch, creating a Familiar becomes possible, and I already have ideas of who it will be!

Find a way to enter the DG Cult and get acquainted with the High Priest, Joachim.

Join Zephyr.

From there, when I turn fifteen or so, I will enroll in a school that's called Jenis Royal Academy, which is the number one school throughout all of Liberl. If you're any person of influence inside Liberl, more than likely, you'll attend Jenis. I don't plan to spend all four years of my studies there, however. For me, it is the most logical step to start there based on the background I was given. I'm considering both Thors Military Academy situated right beside my home in Trista for one or two years, and a school in Calvard called Aramis High School, one if not the most prestigious school you can get into inside Calvard. I'm sure I'll be able to encounter several characters from Daybreak if I choose to do that, as a foreign exchange student. As for the order of these two schools, that part I'm still undecided on.

But I want it to happen in a way where I join Crow's class which happens one year prior to Rean and Class VII forming. I want to become his upperclassman.

There is a breaking point to all of this, which is set to take place in the coming couple of years.

The Hundred Days War.

I want to spend as much time as possible with my family and those who I have made as friends so far, which include Elie. Father has already started creating playdates with Crossbell's Mayor, and her visits at the villa will begin happening soon. For the time being, they will happen on weekends where both Father and Mother will likely be around. I won't stop this from happening. I will also continue training with both Roselia and Father so I can improve my own foundations, and hopefully receive some sword training after Father finds a proper teacher for me. It's going to be one hell of a task to shuffle all of this around.

At the very least, I can say my childhood is going to be quite fulfilling, regardless of whether I have my Gamer System. And as much as I'm looking forward to all of this, I can only put this at the back of my head for now. I didn't know what the Jaeger King was going to do here, lot's of things might be in motion that I'm not aware of yet.

For the time being, I shifted my attention from the fleeting Jaeger King to the vibrant, vermillion-painted city of Heimdallr. It was fiery red no matter where I looked. Really makes you take in the entire thing, you know? You get to see the entire scope of how big this city is during the intro of Cold Steel I where it pans across it while a train rides into the city. Over half a million people live here, and I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being more than that.

Along the way, we received an escort. I saw a car soon arrive in front of Crown Prince Eugent's car, and one in the back. It was very similar to how the president's limo received their escort back in my previous life. Many watched, both surprised and interested. We drove right into Alto Street, and arrived at one of the main intersections that connected to the rest of the city. The same intersection we used prior to reaching Heimdallr Airport. But we didn't go there this time. Our destination was straight forward this time around.

I ignored all gazes directed at me. It's best not to answer why three people could be seen seated on top of an Imperial Family's orbal car, haha!

The street we headed onto is called Vainqueur Street. This street connected to each of the four cardinal directions, allowing one to visit every single district inside Heimdallr. Once we arrived at the center of this street, a gigantic fiery-red Palace could be seen all the way in the back. I mean, it was HUGE. It overlooked the rest of the city quite easily. And before long, it would be none other than Father who would find spending most of his time being spent here, inside from his private office. It was several stories high, and was a gigantic castle. All the way in the back was a lone tower, almost as if it was like a giant clock tower.

Seeing this palace was much more thrilling in person. It really does do it justice
