"The old man might be getting on in years, corrupted by money. Don't take him too seriously."
Lin Yi laughed heartily and then welcomed Jeffrey into the car.
The two didn't go anywhere else, they found a noodle shop, ordered two bowls of braised noodles, each a bottle of beer, and a few cloves of garlic.
"How did the discussion go?"
"Your dad had already talked with him on the phone earlier, no issues with the broader direction," said Jeffrey:
"He is worried there might be issues, possibly dangers like traps."
"Traps?"
Jeffrey took out his phone, found a few photos, and slid them in front of Lin Yi.
"Check this out, your dad sent me this yesterday."
Holding the phone, Lin Yi's hand shook.
The photos seemed to depict a small path leading underground.
Illuminated by two searchlights, the path appeared to be about twenty meters long, with more beyond that not fully captured in the photos.
