Vulcan's Cave
Ren had never been inside Vulcan's Cave before. In his previous life, he didn't even bother to step foot here—he had joined COVENANT too late.
The only thing he knew about the dungeon came from the supporting team's reports and maps.
Now, standing before the cave's mouth, he could feel the damp air brushing against his skin, humid and heavy with the faint scent of sulfur. It wasn't exactly pleasant, but to Ren, it was thrilling. He'd missed this—the excitement of real exploration.
In his past life, everything was strategy and spreadsheets inside an office. But this time, he got to experience it firsthand.
Though Ren knew about seventy percent of COVENANT by heart, Vulcan's Cave wasn't one of them.
"Is every cave this dark?" Nikolai asked as he slipped on the wet floor and face-planted into the rocks.
Ren chuckled and helped him up. "Not all of them. There are some beautiful dungeons out there—this just isn't one of them."
