Chapter 12 - (12) everything will be ok

No One POV – Hospital Panic

It was 2:00 PM, and Black hadn't returned from his date. His parents were worried sick.

"John… something's wrong. I can feel it in my bones," Lisa said, her hands trembling.

"He's a big man, Lisa. I tried calling, but his phone is out of service."

"Call security! Search for him! I'm not going to sleep—I don't know what's happened to my son!"

"Okay, Lisa. I'll call them."

Lisa and John hadn't slept all night. It was the first time they had completely lost contact with Black.

"Maybe we should go see the boy Black had a date with," Lisa suggested, wringing her hands.

"Lisa… he's 25. You can't follow him around like a stalker."

"I just… I wish I had listened to Edward and gone after him," she admitted.

They headed to the café, but Sunny wasn't there. The owner explained he hadn't come in. Terrified, Lisa and John rushed to the restaurant where the date had been.

"Mr. and Mrs. Claude, we're happy to have you," the receptionist said.

"Thank you… we're looking for Mr. Mike," Lisa said urgently.

"He's not here yet, ma'am. I can call him for you."

"No, it's fine. We'll have coffee while we wait."

They sat, ordering drinks.

"John, we should call the police," Lisa muttered.

"He's an adult. It hasn't even been 12 hours. They won't act yet."

"Bullshit! I'm his mother—I know something's wrong!"

"Please, Lisa. Stay calm. We don't want the press involved," John urged.

Just then, Mr. Mike arrived.

"Mr. and Mrs. Claude, would you like to speak here or in my office?"

"In your office, please," Lisa said, urgency in her voice.

Inside, Lisa and John explained the situation. They needed Sunny's contact information—they feared something had happened to Black.

Sunny, hearing the commotion, panicked. He tried to retreat to his room, but Gloria stopped him.

"Stop running, boy. Face this. Talk to them," she said firmly.

"Okay… I'll change first," Sunny whispered, terrified.

Once he returned, he tried to remain composed.

"Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Claude. You shouldn't have come all this way. You can tell Black I won't try to contact him again. I've acted as if we never met."

"What are you saying? Did Black hurt you?" Lisa asked, her voice trembling.

"No! He didn't tell you anything," Sunny replied quickly.

Lisa lowered her head in confusion.

"Then why are you here?"

"Sunny… he hasn't come back. We tried calling, but nothing," John said gently.

Sunny's body shook. Tears streamed down his face. John tried to calm him.

"Son… we need to know what happened. It'll help us search for him."

Sunny explained, his voice breaking, "He walked me home and left around 9:30 PM. He promised to call before midnight, so… so I think he—"

Lisa wrapped him in her arms, trying to console him.

"Stop crying, boy. He's fine, I'm sure of it."

Gloria, overhearing the sobs, rushed forward and held Sunny tightly.

"Don't let anyone hurt him! I don't care who you are!"

"We didn't do anything," John said gently.

"Gloria… Black is missing. He hasn't come home, and no one can reach him."

"Oh my God… you mean… it's Black?"

Sunny sank to his knees, shaking.

"Please, ma'am, sir… can I go with you?" he begged.

"I'm here for you, Sunny. We'll search for him together," Lisa said.

Gloria insisted they all travel in one car. They raced to the hospital.

At the reception, John spoke first.

"Hello… we're here about the man who was stabbed in the park last night."

"Do you know him? We found no documents in his clothes," the receptionist said.

"We think he's our son," John said, voice trembling.

"He's in room 306," she said.

John and Lisa froze outside the door. Taking a deep breath, John pushed it open.

Inside, they saw Black lying pale and unconscious. Both parents were in shock.

"Oh my God… Black! Gloria… Black is going to die because of me! I'm a bad person!" Sunny cried.

"Sunny… honey, what's happening? Open your eyes," Lisa urged.

Overwhelmed, Sunny fainted. John and Lisa turned just in time to hear Black's weak voice calling:

"Sunny…"

"Black! Oh my God, are you okay?" Sunny cried, tears falling.

"I'm okay. Don't move. I'll call the doctor."

"Mom… Sunny… I need to see him. Let me up," Black whispered.

"No… he's fine. He was worried about you," Lisa said.

John helped Sunny back to Black's side. Sunny's small frame curled next to him.

When the doctor arrived, both men were stable. Black's injuries weren't deep, and he hadn't lost much blood.

"Sunny's tired. He cried all night. He'll wake soon. Let them stay together for now," Gloria said softly.

The doctor examined them and nodded.

Black, slowly waking, buried his nose in Sunny's hair, feeling a peace he'd never imagined. For the first time, he realized just how much he needed this boy.
