Schalke, despite having an abysmal season sitting dead last in the table, fought hard all game, desperate to leave the BayArena with even a single point. Their deep defensive block frustrated Leverkusen for over an hour, with wave after wave of attacks breaking down against the relegation-threatened side's massed defence.
