In the heart of the Unfading Heart Faction, stood a fifty story building that had an exquisite design, fully black with refractive Chrome plating. It was the symbol of their faction.
The top floor belonged solely for Amaranthus. As much as he tried to deny that movement nearly the entire faction said "You will get the top floor and you will like it!"
Of course, it was with kind intentions. So Amaranthus caved in, and accepted the top floor with a forced smile that resembled a grimace more than anything else he had tried to achieve.
...
Kalos stood to the side as he presented two people, a female and a male.
The male was named Centinus. He had long blonde hair with grey eyes, he was tall but about two heads shorter than Amaranthus. He was well built, the importance he placed on his physical well being was evident. He wore a casual fit consistenting of a teal windbreaker, grey joggers and black vans.
The female was named Andara, and she was quite the beauty. Whatever you imagined in your head just now, that is it! She wore a red dress that hugged her hour glass figure tightly, with her jet black hair tied into a neat Single French Braid.
...
Amaranthus had come to a Realization after the passing of his Uncle; That is to say, if he was displaced or assassinated the whole of Northwind City would be thrown into chaos.
The only issue with this realization is the fact that he would need to develope and invest into someone. He had to go out of his comfort zone in order to insure the safety of his people.
So he immediately called the Director of Internal Affairs and assigned him the task of searching for two candidates that would compete for the position of his successor, at least the was the original goal.
Kalos put his ass into it and within a few days was able to shrink a list of thousands into one of only two.
...
"Thank you, Kalos. For your hard work, I've scheduled a week long vacation for you," Amaranthus smiled as he looked at the Director of Internal Affairs.
Just as Kalos raised his head and was about to speak, his boss beat him to it.
"No no. No need to protest, you don't think I'm oblivious to how hard you have worked the last few days now, do you?"
Kalos nodded with a sheepish smile as he bowed, turning to leave soon after.
After Kalos left, only Centinus, Andara and Amaranthus were left in the office.
The office resembled Amaranthus's room, minus the storm cloud ceiling.
Amaranthus stood up slowly from his chair, with his hands placed behind his back he walked around his desk. Standing in front of Centinus and Andara.
They immediately felt a pressure they could not describe. It was mixed between nervousness, admiration, anxiety and overwhelming fear.
What stood before them was Amaranthus Engean, The Unfading Fire. It was their opportunity to achieve their ultimate dreams! To help their people, to leave a mark on the world. They were so afraid of failing, when they were already so close.
"My standards are very high. I won't accept division within my faction, nor failure in my position." Amramthus turned to face the window that over looked Northwind City. slowly stepping towards it.
In the eyes of Centinus and Andara, the back of their leader was broad, and powerful. Yet, incredibly lonely and burdened.
"It is a heavy weight that may cripple you if you do not have the conviction to push forward." Amaranthus stopped in front of the window.
"After losing everything I held dear, the darkness that threatened to consume me grew relentlessly. But while I hold the position of Leader, I cannot allow it to even gain an inch of space into my heart." Amaranthus turned to look at the two, his eyebrows were furrowed and his eyes sharp.
"This position calls for you to be selfless, to surround yourself in the light that others will give you. If there is any doubt within you, I advise you to step away and walk back." He walked till he stood before then once again.
"I have realized my error in isolating myself from meaningful relationships, but I am broken.. and tired. I am stuck in my ways for now."
"My successor or successors must bear my burdens but forge a new path. One centered around building a support system within your circle of people. I feel like a hypocrite when I cannot even follow my own advice to the fullest." Amaranthus drooped his head slightly as he looked at the ground.
"I am not dying, but I must prepare for everything. Are you two willing to succeed me after this little speech of mine?" Amaranthus smiled gently as he looked at Centinus and Andara in the eyes.
The whole time they had stood there, frozen in awe. One because their leader had never been so expressive in the public eye, two because he's super charismatic in the way he handles himself and speaks to others and three; They were able to feel their every heart string be pulled as they listened to Amaranthus.
Andara touched her face as she suddenly felt a cold feeling coming from it.
'Tears?' She had used a finger to dab at the wet streaks that lined her cheeks.
Centinus tried to blink away the excess moisture in his eyes. 'Is there sand particles in the air today or something?
They both looked at each other, and came down to an agreement.
Misery merits company.
"We are ready, Mr. Amaranthus." They both spoke in unison.
"Very well." Amaranthus replied.
