Chapter 12 - Author Update 18.5.25

exhales long and hard

So, first of all, apologies for anyone that has been waiting for updates. The only explanation I can give you is that I am also a full time high school teacher, and that's a whole lot of mental and emotional effort, hence my lack of visible work in this other career of mine.

I have been doing some thinking regarding my Patreon Page and how to attempt to be more active on it. Key word here being 'attempt' - my perpetually procrastinating ass can't keep promises.

Essentially, I've scaled back things on Patreon to focus on just my updates for my published works, and the continuous stories I publish.

I will be doing my very best to keep somewhat regular in the continuous stories space, but it will entirely depend on what I feel capable of doing each week in addition to my other career.

In regards to 'The Depravity of a Monster' the sequel to 'The Birth of a Monster' I am hoping to begin the formal publishing process this year, but whether it will be published this year is another can of worms. It entirely depends on how much I have to change after each editing round. The more I have to change, the longer it'll take.

I am also hoping to begin writing book 3, 'The Isolation of a Monster' whilst Depravity is in editing so that I can attempt to close the gap between publishing works.

Seriously, I have no idea how authors write a whole book in a month. Maybe I'll get there one day, but looking at my current track record, probably not - I'd most certainly have to quit my teaching job to even come close to that time frame.

This whole update and refocus was spurred on by logging on to Royal Road and Webnovel where I originally published The First Vampire book series and seeing some really positive reviews and engagements from fans. Thanks to these websites no longer being a focus in my life, I hadn't logged on since I'd published 'The Birth of a Monster' at the start of 2023, and I really should have.

You guys are amazing, and I want you to know that even after a couple of years, your words still moved me. I can't thank you enough for the support you have shown, and I'm so sorry I haven't been present to show you that in return.

Alas, time keeps passing no matter what we're doing, and I'm glad I looked back to remind myself about my goals and those who have supported me for so long.

Thank you for giving, no matter if it was your words, your views or something more tangible, and I'll do my best to give back in return from now on.

Please stay happy and healthy, and happy reading!
