Chapter 18 - Name

Later that night as Herbie cruised through the turbulent, unpredictable weather of the Grand Line with the ease of a raft in a lazy river, Dud sat on his bed, his yellow eyes reading the gacha notifications.

Dud rubbed his eyes as he read the modified notifications that gave him more details than he asked for, and rubbing his eyes, he dearly wished he could talk to whatever gave him the notification or gave him the gacha itself; he doubted it would ever be granted, though.

Dud engaged the ticket.

[Kalameet]

Epic Familiar

{Dark Souls} - A descendant of the immortal Arch-dragons, Kalameet is the Black Dragon of Calamity that even the city of gods, Anor Londo, did not dare provoke. With obsidian scales tougher than metal, a breath of incinerating dark flames, and a glowing orange crest on his forehead that can weaken and bring even the toughest of warriors to their knees.

Mythical:

[Dust Release]

Mythical Ability

{Naruto} - Allows the user to form three-dimensional translucent constructs, such as spheres and cubes, that, once launched, turn anything that passes through them to dust on a molecular level.

Dud felt the 6th slot lock and the connection to the dragon settle in his psyche.

"The bag of ores is going to Herbie, and the gun cache and guns from [Wastelanders Survival Kit] are going to Fredric, and what am I going to do with a dragon?" Dud wondered out loud as he read through the rewards.

"I wish I had a base where I could leave my familiars and other things. Well, I will think of it tomorrow." Dud said before napping.

Next day during breakfast.

"How close are we to Popsicle City?" Fredric asked as he looked at the boiling ocean from the temperature-controlled interior of Herbie.

"About half an hour." Dud answered as he prepared breakfast for the crew.

"Herbie is amazing," sighed Reiju as she relaxed into her seat.

"He is the best," Dud agreed.

"Hey, have you guys seen Luffy and the others?" asked Zoro, stumbling into the galley, making everyone pause.

"Zoro?" Fredric asked in surprise.

"Yes?" asked the lost swordsman.

"Why are you on our ship?" Fredric asked slowly like one would ask a toddler.

"What do you mean your ship?" Zoro asked as he looked around and came to the realization he was definitely not on the Going Merry.

"Did you kidnap me?" Zoro accused his hand of going to his sword and his voice of gaining a deadly edge.

"Okay! None of that!" Dud interrupted making him focus on Dud.

"Back to the straw hats with you." Dud said to Zoro, brandishing a spatula at him, making him vanish.

"Did you get new gifts?" Reiju asked Dud.

"Yes, I did."

"Where did you send him?" Fredric asked.

"Back to his ship. We have something important to decide." "Dud," he declared as he answered Fredric, which got his crewmate's attention.

"We don't have a crew name." Dud said, and the sky thundered dramatically even tho it wasn't the setting for it.

"I was wondering about that," said Reiju, leaning forward curiously.

"I don't really care," said Fredric with a shrug.

"You should!" Dud said, brandishing his spatula at the lazy, apathetic first mate, earning him an eyeroll.

"Why don't you have a name?" Reiju asked.

"We have never needed one? and it hasn't been necessary," answered Fredric.

"Well now we do! We are getting a bounty, and if we don't decide on a name, the newspapers are going to decide one, and it's going to be lame," complained Dud.

"How about Phantom Sailors?" Reiju suggested, and Dud paused, thinking it over.

"The papers are going to change it to something like the Phantom Pirates, but I think you nailed it."

"Hurray to the Phantom Pirates!" Fredric cheered in a monotone voice while raising his glass of water, and just like that, the Phantom Pirates were named.

In the main bridge,

The part of Dud that was keeping an eye out read the new notification and dismissed it while engaging the Gacha.

{Achievement: A Proper Name.

Description: Name your crew.

Reward: 1X Gold Ticket}

GOLD:

[Volcano]

Uncommon Item

{Terraria} - A sword of flame forged with ore from the depths of hell itself amplifies the power of fire-based abilities when using Volcano as a focus.

'Neat,' Dud thought to himself, torn between keeping it and gifting it to the poison user, but he was soon distracted by the island that appeared on the horizon.
