Swirling azure-rimmed portals of darkness opened in the remnants of the planet's ruptured sky, pulsing like hungry maws as they consumed the incoming meteor storm.
Over ten million square miles of landmass, transformed into flaming meteorites, were devoured by the portals, which then merged into a single massive portal that collapsed inward.
All of the devoured mass and energy condensed into a space-time distorting singularity.
"Here. Have this back," Jamie said with a smile, and the sphere in his palm erupted into a storm of annihilation that rained down from above, each projectile carving through space, splitting reality at the seams and leaving afterimages of glitching voids in its wake.
Faced with the spectacle, Evan looked at Arthur and asked,
