Chapter 426 - You Almost Made Me Pee in My Pants!

Seven Sins System Chapter 427. You Almost Made Me Pee in My Pants!

Barry, who looked like he had genuinely been on the verge of tears, whined, "But it's too much! You almost made me pee in my pants!"

I, Darren, and Ion turned to Barry simultaneously, our faces contorted in disgust. Barry's eyes darted between us, and he quickly adopted an awkward expression. "I was just kidding, guys," he said, his voice lacking conviction.

Darren shook his head and then turned his attention back to me. "Anyway, I didn't expect you to go so far as to create a barrier to prevent us from leaving," he said, a hint of complaint in his tone.

Ion, still recovering from the shock, added, "Yeah, that was a violation. A mentor shouldn't do that." He crossed his arms, trying to maintain a stern expression.

I shrugged nonchalantly. "Sometimes I have to do something unusual to awaken my stubborn students and make them admit their sins." I paused, realizing my slip of the tongue. Quickly, I corrected myself, "I mean crimes. You shouldn't play around with devil summoning formations. If the devil is not happy and decides to enslave you, you are beyond redemption."

The trio looked at each other and then back at me, their expressions unified in solemn understanding. "We understand, doc," they said in unison, their voices earnest.

"Good," I replied, nodding in approval.

I continued my run, passing them. Somehow, my head felt a little clearer, the weight of my earlier thoughts lifting slightly. At last, I could actually enjoy my morning.

Also, I noticed my grumpy face had relaxed, the tension easing from my features. My stride became more fluid, the rhythm of my steps aligning with the calmness. As I ran, I began to take in the sights around me, truly seeing them for the first time in what felt like forever.

The park was bustling with early morning activity. A group of yoga girls in bright, stretchy outfits were gathered on a grassy patch, moving through their poses. They glanced my way, their eyes following me with a mix of curiosity and interest. I acknowledged them with a brief nod.

Further along the path, I passed other mentors and teachers, their faces lighting up with smiles as I approached. The sky above was a brilliant blue, not a cloud in sight. The sun cast a warm, golden light over everything. The weather was perfect, a gentle breeze carrying the scent of blooming flowers and freshly cut grass.

"This pathetic realm isn't bad either," I thought, a smile tugging at my lips. Despite my initial disdain for the mortal world, I couldn't deny that it had its charms. There was a sense of peace and simplicity here that was absent in my own realm.

I might leave this realm soon, returning to my duties and the complexities of the demon world, but the thought of occasional visits didn't seem so far-fetched. I could come back to visit the academy, check in on the trio, and perhaps even spend some time with Cony and Carl.

After I finished my jog, I headed back to my dorm. The morning sun was higher now, casting longer shadows and bringing more warmth to the day. I entered my room, peeling off my sweaty clothes and heading straight for the shower. The hot water was a welcome relief. I lingered under the spray, letting the steam envelop me, clearing my mind.

Once clean, I stepped out, dried off, and dressed in my usual attire. A crisp shirt and trousers, complemented by my white coat—the one that marked me as a doctor here. I glanced at my reflection in the mirror, the ID badge hanging around my neck. I remembered feeling strange the first time I wore this, the disconnect between my true identity and this mortal disguise. But now, it felt almost normal, a part of my routine.

I stretched out my tentacles as I prepared to make a simple breakfast. This was my first day after my long absence, none of my girls knew I had returned and they might not have brought me anything for my lunch or breakfast, so I had to fend for myself. I scanned my limited supplies and settled on boiling some eggs and cooking some sausages. The sausages turned a bit black—overcooked, as mortals would say—but that didn't bother me. Food was fuel, and I wasn't picky.

Once the eggs were boiled and the sausages cooked, I put them into a container. I added some tomato juice and milk to my bag, planning to share my breakfast with Puriel.

Packing everything up, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled over me. The more I thought about leaving, the more my emotions seemed to tangle and twist, making it hard to focus. Puriel's sad face flashed in my mind, and I felt a weird emotion within me.

I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. It was no use dwelling on it now. I slung my bag over my shoulder and left the dorm. I made my way to the infirmary. The building was alive with activity, with students hurrying to their classes and teachers preparing for the day.

When I reached the infirmary, I unlocked the door and stepped inside. The sterile smell of antiseptic greeted me, a scent I had come to associate with my role here. I put my bag away and sat in my usual seat, letting out a slow breath. The room was quiet, the early hour ensuring that no students had yet arrived seeking medical attention.

Once I settled in, I couldn't help but think about the past few days. My double had been filling in for me. Penelope had looked suspicious. She was sharp, able to sense the subtle differences that others missed. It was as if she could smell the changes in my blood, instinctively knowing that the person sitting here wasn't the real Dr. Allen.

Despite her suspicions, she couldn't accuse him outright. My double and I shared the same scent, and the same outward appearance. It was a perfect replica in every way that mattered to mortals.
