Chapter 492 - I’m Still Your Annoying Devil And Your Favorite Nemesis

Seven Sins System Chapter 492. I'm Still Your Annoying Devil And Your Favorite Nemesis

"Why didn't you just come over and talk to me?" I asked, my voice softer now, genuinely curious. "We're partners in this, aren't we? We've been through worse than an awkward morning jog."

Puriel's eyes softened, and for a moment, I could see the conflict in her expression. She looked away, as if gathering her thoughts before speaking. "I didn't know what to say," she admitted quietly. "After everything that's been happening… things have been confusing."

I let out a long exhale, turning my gaze forward toward the window. The sky outside was a soft shade of blue. I stared at it for a moment, letting the silence linger before speaking again. "You know… even now, I don't know what to do with all of this. With you."

"I've been in a dilemma lately," I continued, still staring at the sky. "But somehow, letting this weird relationship take us where it's going might be… fun."

A part of me cringed at admitting that. I was never one to dwell in prolonged uncertainty or sit in silence, weighed down by indecision. That wasn't me. I was the Lord of Wrath—impulsive, decisive, never afraid to act. Yet here I was, caught in this strange limbo with Puriel, not knowing what to do with her, with us. And it annoyed me. It had annoyed me for a while now.

'I've been treating this like a burden,' I thought to myself. 'That was my biggest mistake. I let it weigh me down, made me lose myself. I need to let it go.'

"What do you mean?" Puriel asked, breaking the silence. Her voice was soft but laced with curiosity.

I turned to face her, finally breaking my gaze from the sky. "What I mean is… I'm going to try to enjoy this weird relationship. Like it or not. I want to see how far we can go, and how this will end." A small smile tugged at the corner of my mouth. "I mean, our start was already weird, right? So why not?"

Puriel looked at me, her expression unreadable. For a moment, I thought she was going to brush it off, make a joke, or try to deflect. But she didn't. Instead, she remained quiet.

"You sound like you have feelings for me," she finally said, breaking the silence with a tone that was both skeptical and thoughtful. "While you literally just had sex with your two harems."

I couldn't help but laugh at her bluntness. "I'm a devil, Puriel. That's what we do," I replied with a grin. "We don't operate by the same rules you do. You know that."

Her lips twitched, almost like she wanted to smile but was holding it back. "Still, it's hard to take you seriously when you say things like that. You're… unpredictable."

I leaned back, crossing my arms. "I prefer the term 'spontaneous,'" I said with a smirk. "And besides, unpredictable is what keeps things interesting, isn't it?"

Puriel sighed, her gaze softening again as she looked at me. "You've always been trouble," she muttered, though there was no real heat behind the words.

"And yet, here you are," I pointed out, raising an eyebrow. "You've stuck around through all this. Why?"

She hesitated, her eyes flickering with something deeper, something she wasn't ready to admit, not fully. "Because… despite everything, I think I want to see how this ends too," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

For a moment, I felt something shift between us. It wasn't a grand declaration, but it was enough. Enough to let me know that she wasn't just here out of obligation or duty. There was something else keeping her close, something more personal.

"You're full of surprises, Puriel," I said softly, my tone lacking the usual teasing edge. "I didn't expect you to admit that."

She turned away, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, clearly uncomfortable with the moment. "Don't make a big deal out of it," she muttered. "I'm still a servant of the light, Azrael. This doesn't change anything."

I chuckled, leaning forward slightly. "Doesn't it?"

Puriel shot me a look, one that was both exasperated and amused. "You really don't know when to quit, do you?"

I smirked, leaning in closer. "No," I admitted, the teasing lilt in my voice making it clear that I had no intention of stopping. "I'm still a teaser, like usual." I tilted my head slightly, my eyes never leaving hers, and a smile tugged at the corner of my lips. "I'm still your annoying devil and your favorite nemesis."

That did it. Her face flushed even redder, a deep blush that spread across her cheeks. But, to her credit, she didn't back down. She just stared at me, those sharp eyes locked onto mine, unwilling to be the first to break.

I leaned in even closer, my gaze still fixed on hers, and slowly reached out my hand. My fingers brushed against her cheek, the softness of her skin surprising me for a moment. She stiffened slightly at the contact but didn't pull away. I let my hand drift upwards, gently pushing a strand of her hair behind her ear before running my fingers through the rest of it. The silky strands slipped between my fingers as I gathered a handful of her hair, bringing it up to my lips.

Without breaking eye contact, I pressed a soft kiss to her hair, feeling the tension between us spike for just a moment before settling into something more… intimate.

Her breath hitched, and for the briefest of moments, her eyes softened again, the usual guard she kept up around me faltering. I could see the conflict in her gaze—the uncertainty, the confusion, the way she wasn't sure how to react to this strange connection we seemed to be building.

"You always know how to keep things complicated," she said, her voice quieter now, almost a whisper. But there was no anger in it, no annoyance—just a kind of resigned amusement.

I chuckled softly, still holding her gaze. "Complicated is what I do best, Puriel. You know that."

She let out a soft sigh, shaking her head slightly as if trying to clear whatever thoughts were running through her mind. "I don't know how you do it," she admitted, her voice barely audible. "You're always so… composed, even when things are falling apart."
