"Why were you exchanging glances with Nada?! Tell me, Jake, what are you up to? Tell me?" Myra snapped, her voice sharp with anger.
Here it comes. I let out a sigh, already expecting this. It was unavoidable. As she kept rambling, her bulged stomach moved in a funny way; it was obvious our baby was kicking, making Myra pause mid–sentence, bite her lip and wince. Seeing her fall quiet, I shifted back to my normal appearance and quickly closed the distance between us, pulling her into a hug.
"You shouldn't be shouting in your condition, you know?" I said softly. "Don't you think we have a lot to catch up on instead of arguing?" I added, rubbing her belly gently.
I noticed Myra's expression change into one of guilt, and she suddenly slung her arms around my neck, hugging me back tightly.
"I'm sorry… I was just jealous, you know? I felt you should be talking to me instead of her and with your tendency of chasing different skir—"
