"When you were outside… what do you do?" Josef cut into his steak as he stared at Ava. When she didn't answer, he smiled. "Erase that… I don't want to know your past. I just want to know why you seemed to be good at investigating crimes. Perhaps…"
"Law enforcement."
"Ah…" Josef nodded. "Now I understand why you were able to find out about the truth."
"Truth…"
"I was not aware of the blood thinner."
Ava nodded.
"You should probably eat."
"No thanks."
"You will be working with me for a long time. You should get used to being with me." Josef started eating and for a few seconds, there was only silence inside the large dining hall.
The long rectangular table that she only saw in movies is now in front of her. Ava used to wonder what it felt when you are eating with someone at one of those tables. She doesn't like the thought of it. Now, she was pretty sure that she dislike it. She couldn't imagine herself spending her time in a place like this forever.
