"Princess! Princess! Where are you?!"
An imp was rushing through the vast garden of the palace, looking for her mistress. Night was about to fall and she needed to find her mistress before the High Queen found out that she was missing, again.
She tripped over a small rock and tumbled forward. The imp hissed in pain and stood up, intending to resume her task before the rest of the residents of Shayla Kingdom started their day.
"Please, I beg you to come out now! This isn't the time to play tricks on me, young woman!"
The imp's name was Cyil. She was a servant at the palace of the Shayla Kingdom and was assigned to look after the welfare of the human magus, Iris Scarborough. She had been the one who taught Iris the ways of the faeries and how to live amongst them.
Cyil would come to her at dusk to wake Iris up, draw her bath and fix her hair before facing the court. Despite her harsh tone, Iris knew that the imp had grown fond of her throughout the two years they'd been together.
