He stared at the tablet that was still showing Audia and the children.
"And you… just stepped on the button."
Madam Fani glared. "What are you talking about?"
From the distance, in the direction of the city, the sound of sirens wailed. Not one or two, but dozens. The sound grew louder, rushing quickly toward the dock.
Madam Fani's face changed. That wasn't the sound of ordinary police. It was a different sound, deeper, more terrifying.
"My Plan B isn't the police, Madam," said Alvin, his eyes gleaming with restrained madness. "They are a special team my father created for the worst-case scenario. They don't care about the law. Their only command is to protect the family… by any means necessary."
He stared straight into Madam Fani's eyes.
"And they just received the order that the greatest threat to the Hutomo family… is right here, on this dock. So, Madam Fani… who's holding all the cards now?"
