Chapter 2 - [Assimilation]

"New species? Do you know how many species of bacteria there are, it cannot simply be classified as "bacteria DNA"." The creature thought at the voice, but no response came.

"Well, Might as well get a move on. This is crazy and all, but I have to grow so I don't get killed" The creature said, beginning to move in a random direction.

Hours passed, mindlessly wandering the world of micro-organisms, before a familiar sound broke up the monotony of travel.

[Bacteria DNA processed; Part acquired.]

[Part gained; Flagellum]

[Part information; A long, hair-like structure which allows for greater movement, allowing one to "swim" while at cellular size. Currently weak, due to limited DNA samples.]

Multiple notifications rung in the creature's mind, working overtime to try to comprehend all this new information.

"Damn, from being eaten once, i got all of that?" The creature was baffled that he was even not human in the first place, let alone being able to gain traits from other creature.

"Now... How do I use the new part?" The creature thought, rubbing their imaginary chin.

[Opening creature editor] (Spore reference)

Suddenly, the creature was no longer where they used to be. In place, they were in a black void with a glass-like window. in front of them, was their body, and to the side of the window, was a list with one part. The flagellum.

The creature reached out to the flagellum icon, suddenly becoming 3d. The creature wondered how all this was happening, but felt that there was some force driving him to do what he usually would not. Without hesitation, he places a flagellum onto the model of his body.

-1 energy

A counter with 5 energy ticked down as the flagellum connected to the body, if this was like what he was used to, the creature thought it was the limit of how many parts he could add.

[Scan complete; Bacteria DNA Classification; Lactobacillus acidophilus, Common name: acidophilus. Usually n##$^(^(!(!((&)*)^].

[Warning, not enough DNA to produce full profile on "Lactobacillus Acidophilus". Please assimilate more DNA of this variety to unlock further scanning.]

The creature slammed his metaphorical fist down, screaming in his head; "Damnit, WHY CAN'T ANYTHING BE EASY HERE?"

During his outburst, the creature touched the accept button, quickly being flung back into his own body. The creature felt his body contract and expand, his membrane slowly forming into a tail like structure as if it were being sucked through a straw. His insides expanded into the tail, fully forming.

"Urgh, I think I'm going to puke...."

The creature, still disoriented after growing a second flagella, flips around and squirms a few times, attempting to get used to his new limb.

"Damnit, why won't you listen to me, you are my own body part!"

The creature continues to struggle, until it gives up. As soon as it releases control, it's flagella begin to move as it wanted.

"Oh so now you want to work, damn you body!"

During it's inner monologue rampage, The creature smashes into something, which brings it back from it's mind again. In front of the creature lays a wall of green organisms, thousands of organisms combined into one. The creature's instincts flare up, encouraging the creature to assimilate.

"How do I assimilate it though, I took over this body by being eaten, but I assume that these organisms do not eat cells...."

The creature thinks for a while, thinking of multiple ways to approach the wall of organisms, but none seem to be good enough.

[Suggestion; Use the flagella to pierce the walls]

"What? Is that even possible? I do not recall any creature who has a flagella that can pierce into organic beings."

The creature considers it for a minute, Tensing it's flagella and rushing at the bottom-most organism, Piercing slightly into the walls, which great cracks form. The creature begins to feel strange, being quickly sucked into the hole that it made in the organism.

Inside the organism, hundreds of foreign particles and parts flood the system, ripping apart all the organelles, before fusing into the organism, and repairing the damage. The entire cell slowly becomes crimson red as the corruption takes place.

[DNA absorbed; Moss. Scanning.]

[Title achieved; He Who Infects]

[Title effects: Able to infect all organisms and cells, but cannot grow bigger than a cell. All infected cells are under the user's command, effectively turning the user into a hivemind within the body.]

The organism suddenly destabilizes inside, the walls becoming like jelly, as the entire organism quakes violently, the nucleus growing in size. Stabilizing, the organism's walls begin to knit themselves back together, all internal damage being quickly repaired.

The creature barely has enough time to get it's mind back together, before it faints.
