"...Has something caught fire?"
Sniffing the air, Ye Wan felt there was a distinct smell of burning wood. She looked around and then glanced up at the sky.
The sky was a clear blue with no sign of smoke in any direction.
"It seems like it..."
"I smell it too."
Liang Jingjing and Xu Jiahao spoke, exchanging a glance that's hard to describe.
With a sense of foreboding in their hearts, they both started running forward.
"Don't run..."
Ye Wan laughed as she chased after them.
Soon, the three of them stood stunned in the woods.
In the distance, they could see their wooden cabin.
But now, only half of it remained.
The charred cabin looked exceptionally dilapidated in the glow of the setting sun.
Ye Wan was momentarily frozen.
As if she already knew what had happened.
"Why? Why do this to us?"
Liang Jingjing's tears started flowing, as she mumbled through sobs, appearing pitiful and aggrieved.
Xu Jiahao also looked defeated.
