There were many fascinating things that Kat had just revealed to us, but all of us were far too hot to give a damn about this 'Stairway Imperata' or about who told her about said stairway; the entire time she had been speaking I had found my gaze drawn towards the slender curve of her neck and the fair, sweaty skin that was ripe for the marking.
I had never been this hard in my life, nor had I ever felt an ache this fiercely in my fangs ever before; I needed to feast on this Dogkin immediately, so before she could continue her speculation and before I could hurt her feelings by telling her to shut up, I just pulled her over into my arms and bit her neck.
She hadn't been speaking right then, instead listening to Jahi and her speculations, so the time was perfect for me to guide us back to the more pressing matters, primarily of which was draining her of her blood and slaking my thirst.
