When we got inside everything got far more hectic right off the bat, with Lady Kio being the one to - unsurprisingly - reignite the earlier conflict against Mother by making a few comments about how spacious the house is and how it'll be perfect for a whole litter of pups.
I assume it was the tone she took when speaking that really got them at one another's throats about every single little thing, so although I would prefer to have a peaceful house it would seem that would be impossible with them acting far more like children than as adults with so many years of life already lived.
So although they were being rather... uncivilized as of right now, as the hosts we just went with the simplest option of letting them argue with one another on the far side of the room whilst we settled down for some tea and to have a nice, quiet discussion.
"I do apologize for Kio's behavior; I thought I might have worked most of this out of her on the way over, but apparently that isn't the case."
