It took Qi Yan a full moment to snap out of his reverie.
His gaze tore itself away from the woman sitting in his vehicle's front seat, perfectly composed, perfectly pleased, wearing a content smile like she hadn't just shaken his entire sense of professional decorum in front of his colleagues. The fact that several pairs of eyes were very obviously still on them made his failed attempt at pretending nothing had happened all the more damning.
Beyond shocked didn't even begin to cover it.
Feng Tian was unbelievable.
"Detective Qi," she called sweetly, curling her fingers in a beckon. "Hurry."
She was absolutely going to be the death of him.
Qi Yan let out a quiet breath, forced his thoughts back into order, and turned away before his team could read anything else on his face.
He walked around the front of the vehicle and slid into the driver's seat.
The engine started.
