After all, how can he explain owning such a large number of spirit plants? If he only uses them by himself, a few days of planting is more than enough for him to grow enough to be used for years.
Even if he has that little glutton Belazark, who also indiscriminately consumed spirit plants as if they were mortal food without being affected much, he still has a huge surplus.
However, crossbreeding Spirit Plants is different. It enables Rezen to create more special Spirit Plants. If a spirit plant has one strong side but also one huge drawback, then he can take some time to research and find the most appropriate spirit plant he can use to crossbreed and erase the drawback.
The modified Ghost Berries and the new Dark Vismian Grass were one such example!
