Annie Anne's movements paused for a moment, her gaze somewhat bewilderedly fell on Charlotte Thompson's face.
In her pupils was reflected Annie Anne's expression, and Charlotte furrowed her brows. Compared to Annie's calm and confusion, it was she who first clenched her palm on the table.
"Annie, the time you fell off the prop ladder, it wasn't really related to Mia Carter, right?"
Charlotte didn't know how much courage it took to say this sentence.
Her eyes remained on Annie Anne's face, hoping to find a hint of expression that could break her internal suspicions.
But Annie Anne just chuckled softly, and after taking a gentle sip of the juice in her cup, her voice was somewhat sticky.
"Charlotte, what are you talking about? I don't understand a thing."
She paused, then shook her head, "It was because Mia Carter tampered with the props that I got hurt and ended up in the hospital. How could it have nothing to do with her?"
