Surprisingly enough, Victor withstood the blast even though the amount of mana Alan had put into it was no joke.
Mana enough to topple a mountain by sheer force failed to explode his body, even though it was detonated from within. The shields Alan had put up failed to be put to use. He had expected him to blow up entirely...

Though, it did seem he was successful at enraging the vampire. The polite act was all gone, replaced with a demonic face and bloody eyes.
Victor dislodged himself from the spear and rose into the air. A torrent of blood consumed his figure, and Alan knew he was regenerating inside that vortex.
'What kind of regeneration is it?'
Was it one that defied everything like his own? It couldn't be. Alan could come back even if his entire body had been obliterated but his dragon heart. He could be turned into dust and still come back.
