Selene looked cute, sleeping on my chest peacefully as the tree supported me. She had passed out after we fucked. I didn't even fuck her that hard. The sun was setting and we soon had to go back and face my mother's wrath.
A wave of frustration washed over me as I recalled the day. I had almost called her 'love' which went beyond our boundaries which were already blurry whenever I was with her. Maybe I made a bad decision, letting myself be in this physical relationship with her, but my selfishness came in the way. I wanted her in every way possible, in any way possible and this was the most sane one.
I reminded myself to continue to guard my heart, to keep her at arm's length even as the desire burned within me, at least emotionally. It was a painful choice, but one that I believed was necessary to keep her safe. And as Selene slept against me, I couldn't help but wish that things were different, that we could have a future together without any care in the world.
