I blinked awake to the soft rays of morning slanting through the high windows. Azriel was already halfway up, leaning on one elbow, his other hand tracing lazy patterns along my spine.
"Morning," I mumbled, voice raspy.
He hummed. "How's your back?"
I stretched a little, waiting for the sting from last night's claw marks—except… nothing.
I sat up a bit more, sweeping my hand over my skin, blinking.
"Huh."
Azriel smirked knowingly. "Healed?"
"Completely." I turned to him. "Again?"
He just shrugged, casual as hell. "Bond perks."
I smiled, brushing my lips over his jaw. "Guess I'll stop whining about it then."
He caught my waist and pulled me back down with a lazy, smug kiss. "You can still whine. I like it."
I rolled my eyes, but I was grinning.
