This guy was clearly an important leader within the Blackbeard pirates, with the status of a Transcendent. His value far exceeded that of ordinary bandits and could be brought back as a merit.
Unfortunately, the armor worn by the opponent was quite valuable, but inconvenient to carry, so it had to be abandoned.
