Lucas Quinn emerged from the kitchen just as she entered, exchanging shoes at the door.
"There's just one more dish left. You can change your clothes first," he said, dressed in casual attire with an apron, his curly hair tousled, clean eyebrows carrying a smile, radiating sunshine and innocence.
"I won't change. I'll need to head out again after dinner." She headed towards the kitchen, smelling the aroma of the dishes—an aroma imprinted in her mind as the scent of home.
"Where are you going?" Lucas Quinn, whose eyes had been sparkling moments ago, seemed to dim as he continued cooking mechanically.
She hugged him from behind, closing her eyes gently, leaning on him with a tired expression.
