After concluding the call with Henry Shipton, Charlotte Allison lit another cigarette. Amid the curling smoke, her cold eyes touched the ring on her finger, softening her gaze. Silently, she snuffed out the cigarette and turned back into the house.
Early the next morning, Charlotte Allison received a call from Mr. Daniel, unsurprisingly.
Mr. Daniel brought up her interference in Mrs. Daniel's arrangement for handling the stock transfer.
"Mr. Daniel, you've got the wrong person. I'm not aware of this matter," Charlotte Allison denied, her tone calm and steady.
"Mr. Allison, we're all smart people; there's no need to play dumb. You know if I launch a thorough investigation and expose your interference, it'll tarnish the Allison Corporation's reputation. It won't look good," Mr. Daniel warned.
Even if Charlotte Allison kept denying, he was convinced of his findings.
