Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The Touching IQ of Mother and Son

Victor Parker went to Daisy Joy Kindergarten in the afternoon; he remembered that the little kid mentioned this kindergarten.

This is the affiliated kindergarten of University A; it's not a place you can get into just by having money. Most of the people living nearby are staff from University A, so the kids here either have parents who teach at University A or work there.

A prestigious university like this isn't something anyone can just get into.

Victor Parker sat in the car staring at the entrance, and Andrew Lindsey, unable to sit any longer, turned to Victor Parker, "Should we go in to find him?"

"No need." Victor Parker kept watching the school's entrance. That little guy, just like his mommy, didn't seem to have much sense. It wasn't a coincidence that he suddenly ran into him.

"Ah-choo!" Suddenly, little Tommy sneezed.

Benny looked at his brother, and little Tommy, seemingly unconcerned, rubbed his small nose, "Mommy must be thinking of me."

Little Benny was sitting beside his brother, helping him with toys. After handing a toy to his brother, he got up and walked to the door, sneaking a peek outside.

After seeing that car, he pouted a bit and slowly went back to continue playing with his brother.

"Tommy, the uncle you saw this morning seems to be here again, right at the entrance."

"Oh?" Little Tommy stretched his small head to look outside, "Will he bring me something tasty?"

"You go out and see."

Little Tommy gleefully got up and ran outside with his short legs.

The teacher was about to go out when little Benny followed with his hands behind his back, "Teacher, my uncle came to deliver something, my brother went out to get it, he'll be back soon."

The teacher glanced outside and felt assured upon seeing it was someone little Benny knew, but she still knelt down and patted Benny's little head, "Even when going outside, you must tell the teacher, okay?"

She needed to watch the kids in the classroom, so she stood at the door where she could see both sides.

Little Tommy ran out and knocked on the car door with his small hand. As Victor Parker got out of the car, his big eyes, seemingly able to speak, glowed brightly while looking at Victor Parker.

"Uncle, did you come to see me?" Little Tommy said, his little head continually peaking inside the car, as if looking for his little cake.

Victor Parker didn't expect him to come out, squatted down to meet his eyes, and couldn't help but pinch his chubby little cheeks, "How did you know I was here?"

"I saw you, Uncle." Little Tommy said while pointing at his big eyes, indicating how amazing he was.

"So amazing, huh?" Victor Parker chuckled softly, his tone noticeably softer than usual.

Andrew Lindsey kept his eyes to himself, not daring to look at the boss.

Just two words: terrifying.

Little Tommy nodded earnestly, looking like a little proud peacock.

"Haven't told Uncle your name yet." Victor Parker released his chubby little face and asked.

"Tommy, my name is little Tommy."

Victor Parker: "..."

Andrew Lindsey held back laughter and looked away, as if this was a name Miss Sutton could have come up with.

Little Tommy looked for a while and realized there was nothing to eat, pouted slightly, "Does Uncle have something to discuss with me?"

He wasn't as enthusiastic anymore; in this world, only tasty things and money could make him happy. Oh, and Mommy and his brother too.

Victor Parker understood, "Next time, Uncle will buy something tasty for you, or you can tell Uncle what you want, Uncle..."

"Money." The bright and clear voice stated without a second thought, and even his chubby little face wobbled.

"Pfft..." Andrew Lindsey couldn't hold it any longer but managed to stifle his laughter when Victor Parker looked at him, gazing elsewhere.

Victor Parker looked back at little Tommy, "Uncle will bring you tasty food every day from now on, but tomorrow, Uncle can't come."

"Why can't you come tomorrow?" Little Tommy tilted his head, expressing his confusion.

"Because it's Uncle's mom's birthday, and Uncle needs to celebrate with her."

"Wow, will there be lots of tasty food?" Little Tommy rubbed his tiny hands, a bit eager to eat.

"Of course, there will be lots of tasty food. Hurry in now, or the teacher will get worried." Victor Parker patted his little head.

"Uh-huh." Little Tommy, having received a promise, bounced back to share the good news with his brother; from now on, they'll have tasty food every day.

Victor Parker watched as little Tommy went back inside, "You said Polly Sutton took five million from my mom last year, but why does she still seem so short on money?"

Without the kid around, Victor Parker's tone changed instantly.

"I heard Miss Sutton has spent a lot of money on Old Rook's Discourse on the Streamside over the past two years; probably the five million went into that."

Victor Parker paused, "Five million went into it? Did she build a new Discourse on the Streamside?"

"Buying books."

Victor Parker fell silent, beginning to doubt the intelligence of his son.

"Discourse on the Streamside hasn't been mentioned in twenty years, yet she's persistent." Victor Parker finished speaking, bent down, and got in the car.

Andrew Lindsey hurriedly got in the car and drove away.

Inside, little Tommy excitedly told his brother the good news, that from now on, this uncle would bring them tasty food every day.

Little Tommy and his brother pressed their little heads together, "Brother, that uncle said tomorrow is his mommy's birthday, there will be lots of tasty food. If only we could eat it too."

Little Benny looked at his innocent brother, "Tomorrow is their grandma's birthday?"

"Do you want to eat it?"

Little Tommy nodded as if it were natural, "Mommy said if we didn't want to eat tasty things, we'd lose face over what... what place was it?"

He couldn't remember.

"The top of the food chain." Little Benny filled in for his brother, yet was pondering over their grandma's birthday.

Mrs. Parker's birthday banquet invited nearly all the prestigious families in City A, and surprisingly, Sophie Lynn was also here.

Polly Sutton unwillingly got dragged by Victor Parker, and upon entering the venue, she shook him off to find food, giving Victor Parker no face at all.

Mrs. Parker noticed and after a few exchanges with others, pulled Victor Parker aside, "Why did you bring her here?"

"Mom doesn't seem to understand; we're not divorced yet, and I hope there won't be a repeat of previous incidents," Victor Parker spoke calmly, "If there's a second time, I assure you, this lifetime you'll have only one daughter-in-law, and that's Polly Sutton."

Mrs. Parker was infuriated by her son, "Why is it only her?"

Victor Parker glanced at Polly Sutton, who was gleefully eating, "Mom doesn't think she's cute?"

Mrs. Parker was so angry with her son that she felt a heart attack.

Meanwhile, Polly Sutton was searching for the next little cake to eat when someone tapped her shoulder. She turned but didn't see anyone, then caught sight of someone standing on the other side out of the corner of her eye.

Michael Knight moved to her other side, leaning against the table as he looked at her, "Didn't buy a computer?"

Polly Sutton picked up a cookie, "Just haven't had the time. I won't let you off the hook."

Michael Knight chuckled, "Always at your service."

Polly Sutton gave him a glance, her eyes twinkling as she placed one hand on his shoulder, "I heard you and Victor Parker grew up together? Childhood friends type?"
